Oh Yum!

Agnes, that pirogi picture would make nice wallpaper.

I need to get back in to the cooking mode.  Been eating junk for 2 months.

Last night... frozen pizza.

Tonight it's leftovers, or maybe nothing. There's a football game to watch. Last night, however, there was DINNER.
Pan-seared duck breast with a port wine sauce, Pommes Darphin, glazed turned carrots and turnips and a wonderful Mondavi pinot noir. This was followed by a cheese plate with three marvelous cheeses that lleechef ordered from France.

We're buried in snow and freezing, so we're doing comfort food. Cheesy corn-potato chowder with homemade herb foccacia.

You better watch all that fine dining. With the weather in your area the way it is, you might not make it to the store for a while to eat any more delicious dinners like that. I hope you have stocked up on Ravioli-O's.

Ed, we love this weather. We went out to lunch today. lleechef went to the store this afternoon and said it was nearly empty of people. Bunch of wusses around here. Heck, they closed schools yesterday and today for fear the tots would be cold.

Super burger...not fancy but yummy..while the folks back east freeze their butts off, I cooked dinner outside in +55 degrees, here in the mountains of Mendocino County...

Instead of putting my seasonings on the outside, I've been mixing them INSIDE by mashing the seasonings & meat in a stainless bowl with a potato mashers, forming into a ball, then pressing into a patty...the flavors infuse much differently...

Tonights seasonings:
My custom bbq mix
Organic ground garlic, medium  chunky
Onion powder
red pepper flakes
large granule sea salt
fine grind black pepper
(I sometimes also include a few dashes of tabasco sauce)...

Buns toasted inside, meat cooked outside...

The BBQ sauce is my own blend of 3 commercial sauces plus spices, blended & bottled...

I made homemade chicken dumpling soup. As always, very good. But than I was hungry hours later, and ordered Chinese. Bob hates Chinese, so I thought this a good opportunity. He should be home later today.......I have ground buffalo sloppy joes for him, and am contemplating a ground buffalo meat loaf.....

Yesterday I found some frozen stuffed clams (product of USA) at the grocery store so I snagged a thick t-bone to go along with them, baked potatoes, and grilled baby carrots.  And a bottle or 2 of Capital Dark Voyage Black IPA for me.

We've been watching the news reports of the severe WX y'all are getting...

I meant to build a roof over my grill this past summer, but it didn't happen...

I've been known to dash outside between rain & snow flurries, wipe the snow off the gas grill & go for it...

A roof will not only help during the winter, but also in the summer when the sun is blazing overhead...

But I put on a parka & did it anyway...wipe it & light it...I will not let pesky snow flakes come between me & my food...

Wow! That looks amazing. My mouth is watering (call me stupid now) but what's the difference in braciole and spaghetti and meatballs.

The braciole that my family makes is pounded round steak stuffed with basically "meatball" mixture, minus the veal. (Our meatballs are chuck, pork and veal.)

Lisa...    Outstanding!

I haven't been out of the house in over a week.  Been suffering with a bad head cold.

Sharon made chicken and dumplings that probably most here would turn their nose up to...

Chicken boiled with rolled out, flattened, cut in to strips and floured, tube biscuits.

No vegetables... just chicken and carbs.

With a sprinkling of a spice no longer made called Gourmet Spice....

I love it!

Carb Heaven.

Totally forgot to take a picture, I was so intent on inhaling the lasagna my niece made. That woman has completely outshone me on lasagna! I'm pretty sure the 9x13 pan must've weighed ten pounds, and it was amazing.

Michael never heard of braciole with meat stuffing.  In our family we never heard it made any other way.  You should try it sometime.......but NOT sous vide!!
