My computer shows me that EdSails made the last post here but I can't see it.  What the heck is going on here?

I love braciole too and my mother often made it.  Then I went to France....then Belgium......then Michigan.....Boston.....Alaska.  It was the braciole episode of Everybody Loves Raymond that reminded me of this dish I hadn't made in years and years!  And while MH hates that show, he should be thankful!

I used a recipe tonight! It was weird. Chicken Baked in Pineapple Sauce...and it was fan-freaking-tastic! The only thing I did differently was to use boneless/skinless breast instead of thighs with skin and bone. Threw some rice on the side and ladled sauce over everything.

Lisa, I used to have braciole every Sunday

Last November a bunch of us got together at a local Italian Restaurant for "Braciole Bowl 2013"!  Like we need a reason to eat and drink.

I made a Meatloaf last night with ground Lamb, Veal, and a 95-5 grind from Wegman's, it made a great combo, try it along with whatever else you do to Meatloaf, you will love it!

Lamb, veal and beef sounds great, but isn't that beef pretty lean for meatloaf?

I want some of that fat for the gravy. I mean, what's gravy without good fat?

Had the French Dip at South Beverly Grill.

The roll was like bread and the meat was prime rib. Very tender.

I've been spoiled by Philippe's and I like the au jus on the roll and not in a mug. I don't like dipping a sandwich.

Very tasty but way too expensive.  Had to help pay the rent.

South Beverly Grill is part of the Hillstone Group.  They operate several restaurants in the Los Angeles area changing up the menu at each one and naming them differently. So they're a chain, but they're not.

We think that they do it to skirt the issue of listing calorie content on the menu.

I'd go back if taken there.  Good food but a bit too crowded and noisy for my taste.

Mar, that looks good, but, you did pick a good place to spoil yourself over the years.  Philippe's prices are still in line, aren't they ?????

Ravioli-Os????

I know, I meant the Chef Boyardee Ravioli. Only the best for Her Majesty!

I wonder if Kate Middleton can handle campesino style tacos carne asada...?

I trotted out my Cameron stovetop smoker and smoked some Pacific Albacore for dinner.  I'm not big on rare tuna, so I cooked it all the way through, but it's still moist and tasty.

Because we had friends over for the Seahawks vs. 49'ers game, I just couldn't serve chips and dip. So, smoked baby back ribs over maple with my special rub, finished one rack with BBQ sauce and the other, served kale salad and Texas pinto beans.....

A Roadfood potluck would be AMAZING!!

I really, really want ribs now. Really a lot. That could maybe happen this week...I've got some country-style ribs in the freezer, and it's nothing to whip up some BBQ sauce.

Tonight I created a quiche with spinach, bacon and smoked Gouda; served with some roasted broccoli tossed with olive oil, garlic and salt-free seasoning blend. I was so hungry I forgot to take a picture of them together on my plate.

Thank you! The quiche is definitely a keeper. Even my mother, who never comments on anything except to say she hates it, said right out loud it was really good. I made a note on the calendar that she actually liked something.

Tonight I did a stuffed roast chicken with parsnips, carrots, onions and potatoes (stuffing is bread crumbs, carrots, parsnips, onion and garlic); side of broccoli sauteed in butter with shallots. Not that I needed a side, but I wanted more colour on the plate.

I love roast chicken with roasted vegetables! Looks good felix! Tonight I made Scotch broth which is basically lamb and vegetable soup with barley in it. A childhood favorite of mine! I did add some sauteed mushrooms which I finished with a little dry sherry. Sorry about the mushrooms MH!
