Looks good to me Ed.  Can you do chicken with dairy?  I have no idea if chicken counts as meat.

I would love those farfel cakes.

I looked it up and the answer is no. No chicken parmesan!

The farfel cakes turned out good. I had to resist calling them "Jewish hush puppies".

So chicken marinated in yogurt would not be allowed?

It all looks really, really good, though! I need to know someone who knows how to make farfel cakes...

I've never had farfel cakes. But I'm going to, and soon.

Last night's dinner was broccoli rabe (sautéed with garlic and red pepper flakes) and cannellini beans, along with hot Italian sausage. It's one of my favorite meals. Oh, and there was focaccia with roasted red and green peppers.

Was he observant? What was his reaction?

I thought long and hard about making that Milky Way cake for Sunday, but we're actually going to Ikea, so I'll be making some butterscotch cream cheese bars instead for dessert. Also, my famous Passover brisket. I live in an interfaith household and my other half very recently admitted that he never liked eating ham at Easter. That's OK! I'll fix that problem!

He really wasn't, but he skipped the ham, and ate his mashed potatoes without gravy. It ended up being pretty funny, especially once my mother realized why he wasn't eating.

Butterscotch cream cheese bars sound fabulous! But you really should make the Milky Way cake at some point. It's ridiculously good.

Dinner tonight is going to be hot dogs and beer at the last regular season home game for my AHL team. I may still be off work, but that means I can actually watch a game instead of working.

I had blackened ahi tuna and another watercress salad.

MH doesn't like tuna so he had broccoli rabe, cannellini beans and pennoni tossed with garlic, hot pepper flakes and olive oil.

You got your tuna, Lisa. Awesome!

So I made another dinner for Passover. No dairy this time, Mar!

I bought a nice boneless leg of lamb, covered it with olive oil, Penzey's Lamb Seasoning, a nice few tablespoons of crushed garlic and sea salt. It went in my Traeger smoker over maple and red oak.

I got it out just after it hit 143---I was aiming for 135 degrees but it shot up fast in the last few minutes. It carved up nicely.

I started the meal with cold beet borscht. The lamb was served with fresh steamed Brussels sprouts and Israeli Couscous with a pinch of saffron and parsley. It was good!

Looks delicious, Ed!!!  I love leg of lamb but it's too much for the two of us so I do lamb shanks, rack, chops or my favorite, lamb couscous.

My mouth started watering over that plate, Ed. It's been a long time since we've had lamb.

I ended up skipping concessions at the game, because we decided to stop at our local Mexican place for gigantic burritos afterward. I don't have a picture because I was starving and ate in the car (it's a drive-thru only place).

Three words, Lisa---lamb dip sandwiches!

Thanks, Felix. I think I'm going to break Passover with a nice al pastor burrito!

This cous cous was with the Passover stuff. It's probably made from the same thing as they make noodles for noodle kugel.

Passover ham. That brings back memories. When I was in junior high during Passover we'd go around he corner to a little grocery store where the owner would cook hot dogs over a camp stove in the back room and sell them to us for a dime each. He'd also make 25 cent ham and cheese sandwiches, and one of the regular ham and cheese eaters -- on bread -- was Morty Cohen. Morty is now more formally known as Rabbi Morton Cohen.

Tonight I kept it simple: Pork chops rubbed with Rustic Tuscan and garlic-pepper-salt seasonings and then baked, garlic dill green beans, and baked sweet potatoes.

Oh yeah, and finished off the last of these for dessert.

I picked up Pho to go at a neighborhood place.

One carton with noodles.

One carton with sprouts and herbs.

One carton with diced green onions

One cartons with diced jalapeno.

One with Sriracha Sauce

Another with Hoisin Sauce

No carton with the broth...  anywhere.

Not happy.

The owner is going to go broke from container cost and unhappy customers.

We were going to have some beautiful lamb chops. But the Columbus Bluejackets-Pittsburgh Penguins game is going into its second overtime tied at 3-3. So the chops will have to wait till Monday.

I've heard if Pittsburgh wins Blackie and Bella get the lamb chops.

Columbus won. Bella's a Penguins fan so she's not being friendly. Blackie, on the other hand, is Columbus born, so he's a Bluejackets fan. Lisa's eating a leftover quesadilla from the Gahanna Grill. I'm not getting anything. The chops are back in the refrigerator.
