Ed, that looks amazing!

love2bake, thanks, but I'll just wing it from what I've got. It was a good jumping off point, I just wanted more of a pecan-crusted chicken and that isn't what the recipe I had made.

Tonight: Cheesy artichoke frittata squares, leftover curried couscous with walnuts, and cottage cheese. Forgot to take the picture while I was still in the kitchen so the lighting is a little wonky, but whatever.

Ed, The lamb shawarma looks wonderful. The tzatziki sauce consistency looks just right, most are to watery. most people don't realize how much water there is in cukes.............great pics, great article, thanks for sharing......................Bill..........P.S. you know I remember the last time you made Shawarma. That was also a wonderful process and vision of this dish.

Thanks, Bill. Of course the 'non-secret' that I mentioned was turning the yogurt into Greek yogurt by puttng it into a chinois and draining the water out for a few hours. The cukes were salted and pressed to get the water out too.

It was a different cooking process than the last shawarma you mentioned. Personally, I preferred the first time since it was on the rotisserie and had more char area, but this was easier and still tasted good.

Thanks, Felix!

Felix, Looks good!

Ed, I agree, nothing wrong with the one you just made. The first Shawarma you made was a work of art, with a lot of thought behind it. The Al Pastor process is the same, I like seeing the burnt bits on the meat.......Great job my friend!.........Now I want Kankou............take care...........Bill

Lleechef was talking about making Hatch Chile Cheeseburgers on another thread and it got me hungry for burgers. No green chile or cheese here, just mustard, relish, ketchup and onion....but the burger was fried in butter on a cast iron flattop. Yum!

Knowing lleechef, I bet it was even better than the walleye we had in Port Clinton. And that was delicious!

I made St. Louis ribs today. I used my usual homemade rub, with the addition today of Szechwan peppercorns to it. About half way through smoking I drizzled them with honey. Served with a side of beans, they were tasty.

Tonight's dinner is courtesy of happy hour at the pub...  free taco buffet!

They have sandwiches and pizza also, but I'm there for the tacos. And a Guinness or two.

I made something based on Zesty Italian Crescent Casserole, but since there was virtually no flavour in it as written I added a bunch of stuff. Turned out pretty OK!

My nephew graduated and after the graduation we all went out for an early dinner.

(He's going to Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana unless he gets a last minute acceptance from University of Michagan which is his first choice)

We ate at Il Pastaio in Beverly Hills, one of the Drago restaurants.

We began with fried calamari and a Caprese Salad along with some of the best bread and olive oil I've ever had.  That filled me up so my meal was another appetizer:

Nice and spicy!

I'll do 3-4 of them on a rotisserie in my Grill and throw some Applewood smoke on them. Delicious!

We started off with a Caprese salad.

Then had perciatelli con le melanzane.
