I have lots of leftover ribs from a family cookout yesterday, tonight I'm going to shred the meat and put it on some pizzas made with fluffy pocketless-type pita flatbread. Plenty of salt potatoes too, I'll try not to fill up on those before the pizza is done.

Last night: Broiled Asian-marinated pork chops (recipe from Weight Watchers), savory green beans (recipe from the Loveless Cafe), and Spicy Stir-Fry Broccoli with Peanuts (recipe from Eating Well).

Tonight: Bacon, Sausage and Potato Frittata Squares and leftovers of the green beans.

We headed out to the market in search of fish and I could not believe my eyes........they had fresh opah, aka moonfish.  This is a large round fish from Hawaii.  The skin is quite unusual and if you can imagine it on a large round fish......well, it looks like craters on the moon!

MH had never had this fish before so I chose a simple preparation: grilled with a compound butter.

Creamed field corn & left over moussaka.    I never made moussaka before so I tried last night.   It was OK, but I need to work on my recipe.

Lisa, the fish looks wonderful. I think you could take an old shoe and make it look good. After all, look how good you cleaned up Michael!

Thanks, Bill.  The fish was wonderful.  Opah is definitely in my top 5 favorite fishes.  MH wants it again.  Since he had never eaten it before I cooked it on the well-done side.  Next time I will cook it properly.....just to medium.

OK. I'm full. And the garlic mashed potatoes and the green beans from a nearby farm just made it fantastic.

Nope.  That is the right side of the plate.  We looked at some new plates today that I liked but MH did not like.  The search continues.  In the mean time I have to put my food on something!

My mouth literally started watering over that lamb. Your plates could be right-side up, upside-down, or completely missing. Wouldn't matter...I still want some of that.

Last night my sister gifted us some of her jambalaya:

Tonight I started with a recipe for Tarragon Chicken casserole and then substituted pretty much everything except the chicken and tarragon, served with some Greek cucumber salad.

Your tarragon chicken looks great and the cucumber salad just reminded me that I haven't made one yet this summer!

Felix, you keep reminding me about that grape salad I've yet to make.  Maybe this season!

I had chicken fingers from Braum's doused in wing sauce by Frank's.

The opah looks delicious, Lisa. One of my favorite fishes and a treat when it is at the sushi bar. And it is amazing to see, I've sailed by them near Catalina, just relaxing on the surface. Pretty kewl!

Where did you find that in Columbus.  I usually try Weilands or the Columbus Fish Market but I've never seen that one at either place.  I hear there is a good fish market out in Hilliard (Frank's) but I haven't tried it yet.

I got the opah at Giant Eagle Market District in Upper Arlington.  The baby carrots too.  That store is wonderful and has a beautiful fish department.  Don't bother with Frank's.  We went there once and we ended up with cod because that was the only thing that looked good.  Heck, I could've bought cod at the GE here in Gahanna!  Believe me, I've tried just about every market in the Columbus area in search of good fish and Market District is definitely the best.  Also, last August they were roasting fresh hatch chiles outside.........hope they do it again this year!!

I cannot understand your problem with this plate.  It is not upside down or inside out.  It looks fine to me.  My personal opinion of dinner plates is that they should be white and no distracting patterns.  Lisa, I like your plates and you plate your food very nicely..........just as nice as mine.

Mar, if you lived closer you'd have had some delivered by now. I make it about every three weeks.

Tonight I ate more of it for lunch with more watermelon-feta skewers, and again for dinner (because I will eat it every meal until it's gone) along with some crab-stuffed cucumbers and cottage cheese. It's HOT!

Felix, isn't Texas closer?

Tonight's dinner was fried catfish served with tomato relish, tarter sauce and a baked potato.  I began the meal with a green salad.  It was perfect!

Finally back to cooking a dinner. Shrimp, marinated for 4 hours in wine, lemon, grape seed oil, garlic, herbs de provence and garlic. Grilled on the BBQ. Served with turmeric rice and fresh green beans.

PS---any one know how to get rid of the ? 'attached image' file when I upload? It's my first time.....

Mar, Texas is closer, yet somehow not quite close enough for delivery. And now I really want fried catfish; it's been years.

Ed, that does look wonderful! I wish I could help you on the attached image thing...I've still just been using Photobucket to post pictures instead of uploading them. Next time I'll try it and see what I can figure out.

Thanks!  i like that store a lot but it's in the wrong direcion on my way home from work.  That's why I usually go to Weiland's.  But based on your pictures, I think a detour is in order.

Thanks felix and lleechef. I could not believe the size of the shrimp-----under 4's! They really turned out moist and delicious. Felix, I am trying this new posting way that they introduced where we use the RF server instead of our Photobucket accounts, which is good since ultimately it will make for less problems (plus my Photobucket account is almost full!). I asked about the attached images thing on the introductory post about the new design so it will be interesting to see if that is normal or not.

Huh. I was going to try the attachment, but it seems my picture is too large. Back to Photobucket...I am WAY too lazy to resize it just so I can upload it internally.

Garlic chicken thighs, sauteed summer squash and zucchini, and Japanese cucumber salad (I have no idea what makes it Japanese, but that's what it was called).

Felix, I like your skillet meal.

I had a Savannah Salad from McAllister's.  Besides the greens it had dried cranberries, chicken, sliced almonds, tomatoes, cucumbers and blue cheese.  Came with a champagne dressing which was perfect.

Then I downed a pound of cinnamon bears.
