Ditto, Cajun.

CC - did you make those florentines?  I've never seen colored sugar on them before.  If you were planning to form them into shells, wouldn't you do that while they were warm out of the oven, or do you warm them up later or what?

The green/red sugars are a Christmas tradition. Yes...it's August in he desert but I'm not good at all times...so I stay by-the-book with the Christmas cookie traditions.

All of the florentines ended up being adopted...before they had a chance to be cannoli shells. I'll try again tomorrow or Saturday.

They will form if re-heated but much easier straight from the oven.

This is my every other day breakfast, I figure eating eggs everyday will kill me sooner than later. It also gives my Hens time to catch up.........

Homemade Granola w/ dried cranberries, Greek Yogurt, with honey, fresh strawberries and bananas.............

That is a beautiful plate.  I don't eat breakfast because I don't eat eggs and plain don't like waffles or pancakes but I would eat that in a minute!

At the end of the day it's not a biscuit & gravy....

It's Italian SOS on a biscuit

They'd line-up all day in <<<Hoboken>>> for that.

It's delicious....but not Southern.

I'm not from the South....so it's like "hey y'all...biscuits & gravy"

Snap out of it.

Delicious...no? Yes!!

* That's how it works.

Indeed! Pepperoni is like the Italian-American cousin of the Southern salami of Calabria.

Your hood has a very impressive variety of authentic "Southern" classics.

Yesterday I had a decadent Nussecken. It is a little like the best Almond Joy imaginable...with some shortbread...and bonus luxury. It's pretty much the same price as an Almond Joy....so I'm spoiled (even more) with the Nussecken...

Then I visited some Roadfood friends Mr. & Mrs. Cavallo to share the latest news gossip & McApples with them...and to admire their hair (which is beyond fantastic)...

Shy little pony...

Eventually came around to join the fun...

They are a pleasure! Horses usually don't pose for pictures like it's America's Next Top Model...but we always have fun together.

One of the Cavallo cousins need a little help with the hair & boots this week after breakfast...

Sorry Cavallo but you HAVE to have your hair did. It's a LAW where I live...

They understand everything I say...

The last horse I rode sadly committed suicide!
I have not ridden one since, he had such a pretty red leather saddle.
To see him lying there over the cliff about 125 feet below us.

But I'm just not hungry and have a pizza project to manage for lunch.

I'll put myself in breakfast detention. Yay! We get to make wind chimes outta stuff like sifters & measuring cups in breakfast detention...

Somebody should be suspended for doing this...

Watermelon - tri-color grapes - feta cheese with a delightful after-the-shot blueberry vinaigrette (not shown because it was brutti ma buoni)....

They're eggs that floated ashore on a deserted island after the yacht in which they were sailing ran onto a reef.

Shipwrecked eggs are eggs that are lightly scrambled in the pan so that the whites and yolk don't mix too much. A definite difference in taste and texture from regular scrambled eggs.

I'm now doing protein juice drinks for breakfast, even on Yom Kippur.

Into the Vitamix goes...

one peeled juice orange,
half a 1 inch slice of peeled pineapple
2 handfulls of baby spinach leaves
an itty bitty piece of lime including the peel
a tablespoon of honey
a spoonful of protein powder if I remember it
a couple cups of ice

Whirl!

I get my fruit, vegetable and protein all in one.

It even tastes great!

This morning was Glier's HOT Goetta and eggs over easy with some wheat toast to sop up the gooey mess.  Then it was out to the porch and watch the neighbor's house burn down.

I had family visiting for an entire week, taking them all over the city and then some.

I think the thing they liked most was the car accident on the corner.

That looks like an interesting breakfast.

I went to one of my favorite places this morning--Palo Alto Creamery--and got CB hash and hard scrambled eggs w/rye.

My friend got the chicken apple sausage with scrambled eggs, hash browns and housemade wheat toast (which I forgot to photograph)

Corned beef hash and hard scrambled eggs from Nini's Coffee Shop in San Mateo, CA.  Substituted tomatoes for the home fries (what a saint!).

Hadn't noticed that!  I was, of course, hoping for hash that didn't come from a can, but I didn't ask. My bad!  Still, yeah--they got some good crisp on it, so I liked it okay.

Palo Alto Creamery (the previous place) bakes a lot of its own bread, including huge wheat, potato, and brioche loaves and potato rolls.  I buy the brioche and make French toast with it--it's delicious.
