I actually like oatmeal. If I dont have it at home, I will order it at the Starbucks in the Target I work at. It includes sliced almonds, dried cranberries, and brown sugar. I only put half the sugar and cranberries on it. Quite satisfying.

I have varied breakfast over the years, I get in ruts. 20 years ago I would walk 2 miles before I went t work then stop at a 7-11 that was on my route and buy a pre made ham and cheese sandwich and have that for breakfast. When winter came I ate a green salad for breakfast and between the 2, I lost weight and was pretty fit. I moved on to oatmeal, plain with a tap of butter for years, then Kashi and now I eat a half of English muffin with butter. I am now handicap and home bound so I can't go too crazy with what I eat all day. Fruit for lunch!

This juice made me cry. I don't know what I was thinking. Maybe that some of the kale was spinach. Carrots and/or apple usually forgive any very strong ingredient except... too much kale parsley or grapefruit. They really take over.

I look forward to oatmeal tomorrow!

I'm frying potatoes and eggs in bacon grease, and adding toast, yogurt and fresh-squeezed orange juice as a nod toward healthy.

Ditto on the bacon grease.  One quasi-healthy tip:  I put both bacon fat and veg oil in the same pan, so you get bacon flavor but less saturated fat.

Love lox, bagels and cream cheese! However, having a Wisconsin tradition-hot ham and rolls. Can be found at every store and gas station( most likely in a Nesco) every Sunday.

This coming Sunday's Brunch! LOVE Nutella!!
Nutella, Banana, and Croissant Pudding
Ingredients
Serves 4, active time 15 minutes, total time 1 hour 45 minutes
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 12 ounces mini croissants (about 4 to 6 croissants)
  • 2 bananas, sliced into 1/4- to 1/2-inch disks
  • 1/2 cup Nutella spread
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 4 eggs, beaten
Procedures
  1. Adjust oven rack to middle position and preheat to 350°. Butter and 8- by 8-inch baking pan and set aside.
  2. Slice croissants in half lengthwise and arrange half of them along the bottom of the buttered dish. Scatter sliced bananas over halved croissants, then dollop Nutella on top of bananas. Whisk together milk, cream, sugar, and eggs and pour half of milk mixture over croissants. Place remaining halved croissants on top, then pour over remaining milk mixture. Allow bread pudding to sit for an hour, or up to overnight.
  3. Place in oven and bake until egg is set and puffy, about 30 minutes. Allow to sit for 15 minutes before serving.

Lovely French Toast L2B!!

I am in the mood for corned beef hash on toasted buttered corn rye with swiss & mustard. I'll have to make corned beef in the near future.

Maybe I'll have toast and something today.

It's just about corned beef season.

That's when the Swiss & bread become Irish!

My Mother makes some spectacular Irish soda bread. Just sweet enough with great texture! I gotta get her on that when she arrives.

We treated ourselves to breakfast at Anna's House, which is a Roadfood-worthy local place. I had their Cook's Sandwich: sausage patty, fried egg, mushrooms, avocado, cream cheese, scallions and cheddar on English muffin toast. Side of American fries with onions and their house specialty sugar bread (three-inch-thick cinnamon toast with a very liberal application of icing coating it).

My Sunday morning breakfast was Tennessee Pride sausage gravy from a boiling bag with one of Pillsbury's frozen Grands biscuits ( southern style ). I make the good gravy even better by crumbling a slice of Bob Evans Hot Country Sausage into it, along with a sprinkling of crushed red pepper. A great country breakfast!

Had to open at the center where I work(6:30am) and had a Starbucks gift card. I got a iced caramel latte and a bacon, egg and gouda on ciabotta roll for breakfast. Not too bad especially since I didn't have to pay for it.
I don't usually get fancy coffee drinks but it sounded so good even though it was 22 degrees out. It was good.

Had to run a few errands before work this morning. I worked 10:30am to 6:30pm so I stopped at Burger King and got a small order of cheesy tots and a sausage patty.
I confess, I enjoyed it!
