We never judge here in what's for Breakfast....

Excellent point, CC!  But next time, maybe, turn that toast into French toast.

MP - As the saying goes, you could put that Grade B on a bumper and it would be fabulous!  I like your planned mods to the mix, though.   Original Pancake House is one of my favorite places.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement on the sticky buns.  They were quite tasty and I had to get them out of the house fast, so gave most of them away.

pnw - that omelet looks lovely!  Sweet breakfast is nice sometimes, but savory definitely rocks and won't make you pass out.

I think you're trying to motivate me to make the best French toast in the history of bread & eggs & France & whatnot.

Now I will.

<<<Hoboken>>> happens to be the capital of French toast!

How can <<<Hoboken>>> be the capital of French toast?  It was referenced by Apicius.  It had been eaten in Europe in the 4th and 5th centuries.

Are you going to be able to arrange a "WARM" Welcome for their return? They've been running around in Shorts and Tee Shirts out here so I'm not sure they're ready for the shock that awaits them!" />" />" />

While sitting at the table enjoying bagels with lox and cream cheese just now we had the great good fortune to see a pileated woodpecker land in one of the trees in our back yard. It's not often one gets to see a pileated woodpecker, the largest of the woodpeckers (save for the ivory billed woodpecker which may or may not be extinct), and it was exciting. We have downy, hairy, red-bellied and redheaded woodpeckers around the house all the time (driving us into poverty for the cost of all the suet cakes), but this was an unexpected and wonderful treat.

Michael, my favorite Christmas gift this year was a bird feeder, from which, I hang a suet cake. We also have had numerous woodpeckers but not a pileated. What a bonus! My husband has commented that he cannot remember me taking such joy in a gift! I really am enjoying it and the wide variety of birds, especially the pair of cardinals that come every day and the 30 or more mourning doves that have been hanging around.
Oh, and I had Trader Joe's mini Bavarian bratwurst and toast for breakfast in keeping with the threads theme. L2B those biscuits look great!!

Ms OC fried some onions and peppers, some potatoes and some sliced Italian sausage.  Mixed it all up with some scramble.  WOW
She calls it her "Country Breakfast Plate"

We go through four 20-pound bags of regular bird feed a week at ten bucks a bag. These birds are killing us.
Now, about breakfast -- I'll probably just get a sausage, egg and cheese habanero-cheddar biscuit sandwich tomorrow at the Waffle House.

I went to Talk of Broadway in Redwood City this morning for their yummy sweet potato pancakes and real maple syrup (yes--I paid $1.50 extra for it).

Here's a pic of them I posted on a different thread last year:

Btw, on Tuesday, IHOP is celebrating Pancake Day with a free short stack of pancakes.  I think it's on Shrove Tuesday every year.  There's another National Pancake Day on Sept 26, too.  Why not?!?

Yes, CC - the French toast looks excellent--time to fess up!  What's the extra crunch on there??

Tex - those sweet potato pancakes are sooo good--the best item on their menu, in my experience.

The WH that he normally frequents has been closed for a few months for a complete renovation........they razed the building and all.  Rumor has it that it was going to open this afternoon at 2:00.  He's on his way there now.  The one that he has been going to is SUPER busy on the weekends so he's been making his own breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays.  I don't cook breakfast.
