Jordan Almonds, a dentist's friend.

I used to buy them in the movies because my friends hated them.  Didn't have to share!

As much as I love southern style breakfast, I just had a delightful pastry from one of my favorite cafes in Palo Alto.  As long as you can get past the babyfood color of the pistachio cream filling, it's really delicious!

That's a beautiful croissant photo! Pistachios are my favorite nuts.

Ain't nothing wrong with being green...

I never had a Dutch baby!

CC - you can either make your own Dutch baby or go to Original Pancake House for theirs.  They're fun and tasty!

I take my Bride to Physical Therapy M-W-F in the AM.
While she's there, I go to Carl's Jr. for a Sausage Egg & Cheese Biscuit.
It's the same as a Hardees Biscuit.
Regular Price $1.00 AND I get a SR. Discount so it's 90 cents!
JITB charges $2.79 for the same thing and no discount.
The Carl's/Hardees Biscuit is twice as good!

I think the Carl's Jr. out here finally started making biscuits, but I haven't been over to try them yet.  Thanks for the reminder, Foodbme!

Fresh picked strawberries, greek yogurt, honey and homemade granola. A nice way to start the day. It reminds me of a driving through Greece trip I made a few years back. They offer Yogurt and honey at breakfast in all the hotels........

Foodbme, save all the coupons, I'll be in your neck of the woods in late Dec. I'll be taking Mollie over to Quartzsite for a day or two......

Holy Smoke! Look at all those luscious looking varieties. And all I can find around here is the regular and the low sodium.

Ms OC served a simple, but very delicious breakfast this morning.
Hard boiled egg, shelled, warm, in an egg cup
Toasted bagel with cream cheese and home made strawberry jam
Sliced fresh mango.
Coffee and orange juice
Sorry, it was gone before I thought to take a picture.

This is a little bit of a hybrid answer;   a few days ago; I thawed out some beef stew meat that had been in the freezer for a long time; from last year's half a beef purchase.   Family was in no mood for stew in the summer, so I cooked it up as a real beef chili; just beef chunks, no beans.   Beef; a couple chopped onions, a small can of tomato paste, lots of garlic, cumin, chili powder, a can of beef broth, you get the idea.  Let it simmer in the crockpot all day.

Ate a couple meals off of that; great stuff.

And now for breakfast....this morning...heated up the last of it; maybe 3/4 cup or so; a few tender chunks of beef plus that wonderful chili gravy in a bowl; topped it with a couple sunny side up eggs and sided it with a couple warm tortillas.  oh my goodness; amazingly good (and easy) for a start to my workweek.   Some OJ and coffee; I was good all day.  I'm going to have to repeat this again.   Kind of like huevos rancheros, but much better.

Ok, so I went to Carl's this morning to see if the biscuits were the same as Hardee's back east.  I got the Bacon Bacon one which has regular and Canadian bacon plus egg and cheese on it.  I thought the biscuit was pretty decent, but I don't recommend the Bacon Bacon Biscuit as the Canadian bacon overpowered the rest of the ingredients.

Had breakfast this morning at Rocky Mountain Grill in Edmond, OK.

"The Scooter": two biscuits with hash browns, sausage, ham, bacon, covered in green chili and topped with three eggs. One (huge) pancake on the side. Very good!

Sorry about blurry photo. Phone doesn't do well in low light.
