That is a beautiful burger!

I did whole wheat rotini with creamy sauce (bacon-mushroom-fake crab), side of beets.

I wanted to do something different than the usual turkey soup I always make so I made turkey stew with dumplings.

I did have a nice Thanksgiving! I hope you did too. I have a confession Michael, I used half of the dough to make dumplings and I added shredded cheddar to the other half and made myself a couple of biscuits! I like dumplings but love cheese biscuits!

The reason I don't like dumplings is because I guess I have never had good dumplings.  The ones I've had have been dense and gummy.  Bleech.  But if they were more like a flaky biscuit dough that would be great.  And of course "everything is bettah with cheddah"!!

Wow! Lisa, My dumplings are soft and fluffy in the middle with a soft outside! I wish I could make them for you! On the other hand I do love cheese biscuits! M Mom always made them with soup or stew!

tonight I made turkey tetrazzini. I still have more turkey stock left and I know my husband will want some turkey vegetable soup!

This came out great though! I feel very accomplished making more than the usual turkey vegetable soup! I am also looking forward to some pastina cooked in some of that stock too!

I love dumplings! I usually do cheese-herb because I can never decide between dumplings and biscuits.

Tonight I baked some tilapia in a creamy wine sauce. Only picture is of the fish because I made microwaved frozen vegetables as sides and who really cares about those.

My brother took us out to The Gaucho Grill in Brentwood.

I had cardboard picante and rice which they claimed was chicken.

He must be talking about dumplings because nothing else in this house falls into the "soft and fluffy" category.  Well........maybe the kitten.

Had to make some Bushie Beans, Lisa has been talking about them all week. Took some Pork Carnitas and Spanish rice from my Monday night football Seahawk drunken party. I made fresh fried taco hells.

I'd forgotten what a treat it is cooking on crutches. Not that it was my goal to be doing it again, but stuff happens. I went simple...balsamic herbed chicken, peas in a butter-balsamic sauce, and some kind of frozen vegetable mix.

I'm not dead yet! I do, however, have "multiple fractures to the phalanges and metatarsals" of my left foot (thank god it's not my right, which still has screws in it!) from dropping a steel plate on my foot at work Wednesday night. I see an orthopedic guy on Tuesday, but the ER doc told me he was 95% sure it'll require surgery. In the mean time, crutches and narcotics.

Good heavens, Felix--making that dinner is quite an accomplishment!  I believe I'd be ordering pizza and anything else that could be delivered if I were in that situation.  Guess it's too late to say, "Be careful!"   But please do.

Felix, why not switch to paging a skating chimp. Less chance of dropping anything heavy.

(Yes, I did that for the Ice Follies.)

The stupid thing is I was doing an easy job...loadout for a corporate dinner/meeting in our convention center ballrooms. It was such an easy day I didn't bother to wear steel toes. A mistake I won't be making again any time soon.

Thanks very much for the sympathy, I really do appreciate it.  And I said ouch as well, among other things less printable. And still do every time I do something stupid like try to move it or roll over in bed.

Dinner tonight was a freezer special. Spinach and ricotta lasagna rolls, mixed vegetables, and some cottage cheese. And mom wonders why I always make a ton of food and freeze it in portions. Ha! Took me six minutes.

Sorry to hear about your accident, Felix.  My dad did something similar once, although the steel plate was actually the bottom of a wheel loader bucket and his foot became the medical equivalent of a jigsaw puzzle.  Get well soon!

With your limited mobility and the winter weather it might be a good time to break out the crock pot.  Mrs. Chicken has today off and is firing up the pot for a corned beef brisket point tonight.

Felix, I hope the leg is feeling better...........The roll-ups look good......I love having leftover Lasagna, Eggplant parmesan leftover in the freezer. They heat up well without having to go through the whole process of having to make them again. .............get well quick...............Bill
