So Ed, you're loving your Traeger?
Your dinner looks really good.

Bill...  You can serve that dinner to me any time!  (On the bread)

Thanks, Marlene. I really do like the Traeger, it's easy and the stuff I smoke tastes really good.

New day, new attitude. Can't do anything to change it, might as well accept it.

No pictures of the plate, because I was starving. Poached cod over broccoli with garlic cream sauce, and whole wheat couscous with broccoli, bacon and cheddar.

Sounds good, Felix.

I had a bone on (in?) 1/4 inch thick ribeye done in a cast iron skillet.  Took all of 3 minutes.

Served with Harvard Beets.

That's my favorite piece of the salmon.  Have you tried alder plank cooking them on the grill?

Today was my nephew's 12th birthday party: Subway party sub (meh, but it came with a ridiculous amount of vegetables which was cool), macaroni salad, potato salad, fruit salad, and a garbanzo vegetable salad, sour cream and cheddar potato chips, Doritos, and one of those bags of mixed Cheetos. Also, green and white M&Ms, and my sister freehand decorated the cake. Stupid kid is an MSU fan...we don't know where he came from.

I only have a picture of my salad and the cake...I barely remembered to take any pictures all day.

Felix!  My nephew just may be going to Michigan if everything goes right.
He got a preliminary acceptance whatever that is.

If so... I need that cake!

Michigan or Michigan State? It's worse than the ketchup/no ketchup, beans/no beans, or mayonnaise/miracle whip rivalries.

My sister just made a cake and decorated it freehand with frosting, other than the letters.

Either one is bad, but Michigan is worst.

That's UM. Michigan, the state, is terrific. Great hunting, great fishing, and lots of good people and good food. And Petosky stones.

At least neither one of them is OSU.

Looks good, mar!  I learned to make curry from one of the houseboys from Sri Lanka who worked at the Riboud's with me.  Tissa always made lamb curry with about 27 spices and we had it with Basmati rice and Patak's spicy mango chutney.  It was truly divine.

I was on a mission to get pictures of recipes for my Facebook page, since I'm alone in the house and can make whatever I want. Meant to make cookies also, but I ran out of motivation.

Creamed Corn (recipe from the Loveless Cafe)

Fried Corn (recipe from here: http://www.roadfood.com/Recipes/477/fried-corn )

No-Guilt Brownie for One (recipe from Recipezazz)

And then because I realized what a stupid combination of things I made, I also ate a banana and took a multi-vitamin.

Sesame Whitefish Fillets (recipe from Recipezazz.com), served with "fried rice" out of a box and canned French-style green beans drizzled with rice vinegar.

Felix, I love a full plate and you do it so well!

I went to Farmer's Market today and brought home dinner from the Gumbo Pot...

Crawfish pie and peel to eat shrimp.

Made me smile!

Mar, next time you're at the Gumbo Pot, try some pizza too from Deano's right across from it. You'll be amazed at their pizza. Tell Dean I said "hi".

Ed, I saw a couple that people were eating.  They were very tempting.  The pizzas I saw looked like white/green maybe spinach pizzas.  The crust looked amazing!

I actually had Bryan's Beef Ribs for lunch and took the Gumbo Pot food to go.

That pizza was very inviting.

I'll try Deano's next time.

While at Farmer's Market yesterday I also bought a couple packages, maybe 3 pounds of Thurmann's all beef, natural casing hot dogs.

Had 2 split and grilled on Wonderbread with Beaver Coney Mustard.  Washing it down with my Lime Ricky which isn't Nesbitt's at all.  It's by The Pop Shoppe and although not bad, it's not as good as the Nesbitt's that I remember of my youth.
