Ed, did you take a Zantac along with that?  It looks wonderfully, delicious.

Ed, that made my mouth start watering!

Tonight: Crock pot chicken in mushroom-wine sauce over brown rice, some kinda frozen vegetable blend with rosemary-butter sauce, and a spinach, watermelon and feta salad.

Had dinner at Mooyah's.  I've already had their burgers so I ordered the loaded dinner salad.
They served me weeds!  I didn't expect the frizzy and purple stuff at a hamburger joint.

I chose the spicy ranch dressing and put it on half of the salad as it was only enough for half.  Not to my liking as it was very sour.  The after burn caught me in the back of my throat at one point and I started choking.  HINT:  Don't take a big swig of lemonade when choking.

I asked for honey mustard for the second half of the salad.  Worse than spicy ranch.

These were obviously their hamburger dressings.  The honey mustard was yellow mustard with maybe a touch of honey in it.  It did not belong on a salad!

Came home and had a bologna sandwich on Mrs. Baird's white bread.  Great bread!

Aloha! We had guests tonight so I chose a Hawaiian theme. I grilled Huli Huli Chicken:

Made Hawaiian Pineapple Fried Rice, with Korean pork belly, bean sprouts, water chestnuts and scallions:

Fresh snow peas, steamed and Korean Pickled Radish:

And sake!

Mar and felix, thank you. If you've never had fresh chorizo (made from meat, not the leftover oink parts of the pig like the stuff you get in the deli section) it is really delicious. Not too spicy but very flavorful. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed that dish!

It's easy. I buy my Japanese and Hawaiian ingredients at Marukai, Chinese and Korean at either 99 Ranch Market or H-Mart. Fresh fish I usually get there too, especially when one has a sale like live lobster for $6.99/lb. Mexican I get from a carnecieria in Laguna Niguel named Antojitos Market, but I'm sure there are a dozen up where you are, Mar. Middle Eastern I get from Crown Valley market in Mission Viejo or Super A Foods in Anaheim. Have a left anything out?

I need to live near you. The only thing I have here is a couple of Mexican markets, but they're in a part of town known more for crime rate than food.

Terrific!  I go to Marukai and 99 Ranch Market for the reasons your wrote.  I go to  El Camaguaey Meat Market or El Super for Cuban and Latin food items.  I'd love an H-Mart but I have to do with Galleria Supermarket in Koreatown.

Thanks!

Mar,
Another interesting place is El Gaucho Meat Market right off the 405 at Inglewood Avenue in Redondo Beach. They have all sorts of good stuff that is South American as opposed to Mexican, everything from Argentine sausages to Brazilian sodas. Good place to grab a bite too!
 Empanadas with chimichurri sauce:

Meat counter:

Grilled Choripan sausage sandwich from take-out counter

Seriously, Ed, you're killing me! I came in here thinking I'd just eaten a fabulous dinner, and now I'm all jealous and stuff.

Tonight was salmon stuffed with spinach and feta, cucumber salad, and seedless watermelon chunks drizzled with blackberry-ginger balsamic vinegar.

I also made some watermelon rind pickles, and they're way tasty! I'm kicking myself for throwing away the rinds for so many years!

Indian food tonight. Lamb loin chops with a combo of Penzey's Sweet Curry seasoning, Black and Red Spice and Vindaloo seasoning. Saag Paneer was the side dish with some Indian sour lemon pickle.

Broiled chicken with sauteed garlic spinach, skillet hash, and seedless watermelon chunks. I didn't feel like cooking, but we were out of leftovers.

Lleechef, you're right. I wished I had some mango chutney. All I had left in the fridge was the lemon pickle and boy, was that tart!

That looks good! And new plates, too...very nice!

I cleaned out the fridge. The last piece of spinach and feta-stuffed salmon steam-heated so it didn't dry out; added some eggs beaten with sour cream to last night's hash and fried it again, then generously sprinkled with Tapatio. And for dessert I split a banana in half and spread it with Nutella. Whatever.

Lisa, that plate is gorgeous and so is the plate!  Is it a dinner plate?
A Vienna Sausage?  I can't get by the consistency.
I don't know what to say about cold kishka.  I've never had any left over hot kishka.

So...  do you de-construct  (A word that is way overused on cooking shows to coverup screwups) and dip individually?

De-construct?  Damn straight I de-construct!!  I de-constructed it right down the disposal!!!!
WARNING!  Anyone who thinks I actually served (BLEECH) this (DOUBLE BLEECH) or even vaguely thought of eating it (now I'm getting sick) should seriously reconsider things.  I tried to compose the most disgusting thing I could think of on a nice plate that no one would say, "That plate looks upside-down."  Voila.  It worked.  We had delicious 10 oz. cheeseburgers with thick slabs of tomato and lettuce.  ON UPSIDE DOWN PLATES!!!!  HA!
