Fresh, thinly sliced ribeye from a Japanese market.  It also works well for Cheesesteaks.

Iluvcfood and Mar----you both are making me crave a burrito. I guess I know what I'm having for lunch!

PS-------I have only had chorizo in chilaquiles and in tacos------a chorizo burrito sounds really interesting.
PPS------Mar, I bet you are using the shabu shabu ribeye for your burritos? Good idea!

Of course there's garlic, silly.  Also chopped fresh tomatoes.  But I consider those components of the dish and not exactly the sauce per se.

Mar, I remember all the Mothers Day meals you made over the years. I know how much work you put into all the meals and how much your Mom loved them. I would say the Chicken Yakisoba plate looks like you are back in the kitchen. I bet Sharon is happy.........Great job girl!

Bill, it's been hard.  I was with Mom several times during the day and on the other days I was with her in the evenings.  Mom was such a big part of my every day life.  I still can't believe I'm here and she isn't.

In her honor I'm going to totally remodel my kitchen.  Mom was a great cook.  Right now I'm just in the thinking about it stage.  I do want to get back in the swing of things.

Sharon enjoyed the yakisoba.  She doesn't like all of my creations.

Give Mollie and Joyce a hug from me!

A kitchen remodel is a great idea!  Be sure to install a built-in sous vide.......just to make Bill jealous.

I was in a rush and starving so I didn't get a picture, but I took myself out for sushi tonight on my way to work (first time I've been able to go since last November), and it was fabulous!

Sushi Yama (which amazes me every time I go... reasonable prices, good quality sushi... in Michigan!) http://www.yelp.com/biz/sushi-yama-grand-rapids

Lake fish?

I had a condo meeting this evening so on the way back I drove through McDonald's.  I just love those jalapeno burgers.

HA! They *said* it was spicy tuna, but I did have some salmon also.

I'm picking up a couple of those jalapeno burgers on my way home tomorrow night. You've got me curious.

WOW!  It all looks awesome!  Especially the ox tails which I love.  I often see them at the market but MH has never eaten them and doesn't want to try.

I want all of that, right now. Even the oxtails, which I used to be forced to eat as a kid (only ever in soup, my grandma loved oxtail soup) and hated.

Yet another reason to make the CA trip!

I also have a pho place nearby that makes oxtail pho!

And oh so good -- now that I've learned you eat what's inside and throw away the red stuff on the outside.
