Whats wrong with touching your food? The people who prepare your meal do it all the time!

Looks like a lovely dinner!  BUT you're supposed to pick up a lobster roll and eat it like you'd eat a hot dog!  Sheesh.  Do us Yankees have to teach you westcoasters everything?  When we went to Frank Pepe's in New Haven I saw people eating apizza with a fork and knife......must've been Californians.

Can I blame having my stitches out yesterday?

I do hold hamburgers so next time I'll hold a lobster roll.

Possibly wrapped in a napkin, but definitely with my hands.

As for pizza, if it's steaming hot I use a knife and fork for the first couple of bites.  Or, I let it cool a bit and then hold it.

Don't ask about chicken legs or ribs.

Ann... hooray for fruit crack!!

All y'all are making me ashamed. Seriously ashamed. I'm working entirely too many hours, have no time to cook anything new and no stove to cook it on even if I could, and no time to get to anywhere decent because I'm trying to maximize my few available hours for sleep. I am in a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad downward spiral: I went to the McDonald's drive-thru on my way home from work just now.

Someone, please, stage an intervention. Please.

But did you have the Jalapeno Double?

I made oatmeal.

My McDonald's does not have the Jalapeno Double! I asked, and the poor girl was terribly confused. So I got a regular double cheeseburger meal instead. Had I owned a jar of jalapenos, I'd have added some.

No Jalepeno Doubles? That's awful!

All of our McDonald's now offer a small container of diced, pickled jalapenos to dress up all of their burgers for 29¢.

Due to a baseball game last night my dinner was Welsh rabbit. Stouffer's version, to which I added Worcestershire sauce and dried Coleman's mustard and served it over toast points topped with three rashers of peppered bacon.

That sounds yummy, Michael, but then we probably both lost our appetites...

I think last night might have been my fault. I wasn't wearing my Giants ball cap. I don't think I'll eat tonight.

I blended a can of corn with milk, added another drained can of corn to it.  Then I sauteed onion and cut up smoked sausage and added it to the liquid and spiced it up with Salt, pepper and cayenne.  Oh, a pinch of sugar added and it wasn't bad.

I mistakenly bought what I thought was 2 half gallons of milk at Costco and in that unread box was three half gallons.  Trying to use it before it goes bad!

I tried to redeem myself for my fast food binge of late. And technically I had two dinners today, since I worked three different gigs and ate between them and brought my lunch from home. No pictures, because apparently my phone has decided to take pictures that are in an unsupported format my computer can't open all of a sudden.

Dinner #1 was at http://amwaygrand.com/dining/gp-sports. I had their crispy bacon ranch wrap, sub sweet potato fries for regular fries.

Dinner #2 was at http://www.thebullsheadtavern.com/. I truly meant to get something different, but their smoked gouda chicken pasta is so dang fabulous I just had to have it again.

Ah, you ate at the Amway Grand!  What a beautiful place.  When I was chef at the Trillium at Grand Traverse Resort they contacted me and wanted me to be the chef at their fine dining restaurant on the top floor which is now called 'Cygnus 27'.  I went just to check the place out.  I didn't take the job, I was pretty happy in Traverse City but it is a beautiful hotel!!!

Yum, mar!

lleechef, yeah, I eat at various places in the Amway quite a bit (our convention center shares an alley with their loading docks, and they're the exclusive caterers for events). It's neat to be reminded that it actually is a really nice hotel, especially the old Pantlind Hotel part of the building... I'm in there so often it's just another place to eat, or the place where you get a room for a special weekend. My senior prom was going to be at Cygnus, but they were already booked for that night.

The 1913 Room on the main floor was replaced a couple of years ago by a Ruth's Chris, and their business plummeted. Quite possibly because there's a Chop House directly across the street, but also because everyone here was horrified that they closed the state's only five diamond restaurant in favour of a chain. But their other restaurants are really good, if pretty spendy. Very convenient when I'm working, though. I don't even have to go outside to get there since the skywalk starts at the convention center and ends at the arena by way of the Amway.

Tonight instead of eating dinner I took a nap, and it was GLORIOUS! I only had to work from 10am to 2pm.

After 10 nights of baseball, OSU football, NFL football, MH finally found it in his schedule tonight to sit down and eat a decent meal.  It was very simple but good:  roasted chicken with gravy, roasted butternut squash with butter and maple syrup, green beans.  A Chateau St. Michelle sauvignon blanc was the perfect wine.
