That fish does look amazing, mar! Now I want fish. Maybe Sunday, which is I think the next time I can cook.

Tonight I was going to add some smoked sausage to the leftover sauerkraut from the Reubens, but when I opened my freezer I found the venison kielbasa I got from my nephew's first deer. Which was of course a no-brainer. And incredibly tasty!

Felix, that "looks" good but I'm not sure about venison.  I'll take your word!

I cooked the rest of the Ling Cod and it was better than the fried.  Butter, lemon, wine and capers!  Anything would taste good with that sauce.

Mar, venison is wonderful! Of course, I grew up on it, so for me it's nostalgia as well as a treat since I don't get it very often any more.

I still want fish, but work says I can't make any yet. Maybe Monday now. Yours looks amazing, although I'd have to pass on the capers. I just can't make myself enjoy them.

Tonight I said damn the carbs and went with total comfort food I could throw together in the 30 minutes I had available...spaghetti with peas and garlic bread.

Felix, you have a ton of capers on your plate!

After today's day of construction and letting the guys in at 7AM for the 3rd day in a row I was totally exhausted when they left.

I needed to go to Lamps Plus because the fan/lamp combinations I bought at Home Depot have very dim 15 Watt bulbs that don't light up anything.  What Lamps Plus had were just as dim at 8 times what I paid.  I opted for LED bulbs that claim to be brighter.  If they are I'll keep them.  If not I have 60 days to return them.

On the way home I saw and pulled in to an Ono Hawaiian take-out.  Lots of food, mediocre tastes but I did like the macaroni salad.

I'm stuffed from just okay food.

Congratulations, mar, on just re-inventing a classic French sauce, Grenobloise, for your ling cod!  That is one of my favorites.

Did someone say venison?  Love it!

Ha!  I did brown the butter, but I didn't have parsley.

I am still on Alaskan eating mode.  Today our markets received the first AK halibut (probably from Homer, out of Katchemak Bay).  I pan-seared it and topped with a tomato basil beurre blanc.

There's no chili and corn bread in New Jersey.
