Vegetable plate for me: mashed potatoes, gravy, field peas with snaps, and broccoli with cheese.
Husband had the same with some added leftover roast chicken.
This was preceded by a lettuce and tomato salad with a little white onion, and dressed with my best recollection from the late 70's of the Mexican-style dressing that went on a guacamole salad at the original location of the Pancho's Restaurant that spawned the chain in West Memphis, AR.
Watermelon for dessert topped off a lovely Southern summer dinner.
