Thanks.  I'm also Type II borderline. on Metformin.

I still eat the real thing.

I was in a bad way last night.  In trying to fix my NBC television reception the so-called TV repairman that my condo association hired pulled out some fuse that ended all of my TV reception.

Not being able to watch anything I had a peanut butter and Knott's Bosenberry Jam (no seeds)  sandwich, a half of bean and cheese burrito (from Tito's), some Spanosh rice and a bowl of cottage cheese with canned pears followed up by one cinnamon and sugar Pop Tart.

There was some time between all of these.

When I go off of a diet, I do it in a major way.

Last night I lost connection at one minute remaining in the tied Cowboy and Jets game.

I wrote a detailed letter along with a picture of my TV to our president.

She once again passed the buck.

I've tried the broadband on my computer and I can only watch shows after the fact.

Tonight I'll be having a can of Progresso chicken and noodle soup with extra pasta thrown in.  It's also what I had last night.

This is a HOA group president...???

Let her know that until you have your Tv reception restored that you'll be over at her place to watch TV...

Otherwise...cattleprod    (NO is NOT the correct answer, fix it or I'll unleash the grandkids on ya)...

It's going to be a late dinner for me, and it's already sundown...

Tomato, green pepper, onion salad, buttered popcorn, and a glass of cheap red wine. My beautiful bride and grandkids spend the week in town for school, so I get to bach it during the week. Tomorrow night  roasted leg of goat, new potatoes, ceaser salad w/raw egg and anchovies, w/garlic bread and more cheap ass red wine, plus homemade chocolate chip ice cream.

But something I truely miss are the dogs of the late, great DOGGIE DINER (of the SF Bay Area) ... there were 4 that I frequented in the 1960's:

Downtown Hayward at Mission & B st (?)
San Lorenzo at Hesperian & Llewelling
East Oakland at 98th & E14th
Downtown Oakland at Latham Square

After the death of the founder Al Ross, Doggie Diner folded...yet, a collection of 3 of the fiberglass dog heads (which were a rotating sign) has toured the country on a trailer, and was featured on a Tv show...they currently rest on Treasure Island in the SF Bay (between SF and Oakland)

Well, just my opinion of course. And I like them memories of the of Doggie Diners. But the hot dogs there were some of the  worst I have ever had. Moved to Berkeley as a kid at 19 from Chicago. There was a Doggie Diner very near where I was staying. In my opinion it was inedible.

I guess that some folks really get off on the French food served up in the Napa Valley, but to me it's over rated...I don't eat snails, I step on them...

Maybe you ought to investigate a little more. Very little of the food served in the Napa Valley, or Sonoma county, or anywhere in Northern California is French. Most of it is actually more Italian or California inspired. And not all of it has small portions or is frou frou.

There are great restaurants all over Northern California of every kind.

Tonight I did chicken in mushroom-wine sauce over whole wheat spaghetti, with a side of buttercup squash.

Knowing that you're using the whole wheat pasta does not stop me from wanting that.  It looks deliciously rich.

I just finished another shared can of Progresso Chicken and Noodle Soup.

It was! The sauce is shallots and fresh mushrooms sauteed in olive oil, add equal parts chardonnay and chicken stock, thickened with a bit of flour.

Yes there are...and as a native I've enjoyed some great ones...and many more yet to be discovered...

I'm a picky eater, and some types of cuisine I just don't like, such as seafood, French, or Asian, and while this is to some degree self limiting, I'm happy as can be...I like people of all types, just not their food ...

I have fond memories of American & Italian eateries both in the East Bay, and also in Slonoma County...I almost went to Negri's last week, but reading some recent reviews it seems that it might best be enjoyed in my memory from the 1960's...it would've been a long drive for me...it was more accessable when I lived in the Napa Valley...

I have brisket in the slow cooker. It will be in there for 12 hours before I have a chance to eat it. I think I am doing string beans with butter garlic sauce as a side (I need more vegetable recipes) and maybe biscuits.

Made a pot of chili last night, plenty of leftovers for dinner tonight. It's always better the second day anyway. Colby jack cheese on top, and garlic bread on the side. Then it's out for drinks, for I turned 40 today.

The last few days have been hell...

I broke a tooth, that then abcessed, and then I had a very bad reaction to antibiotic medication...so it was a quick trip to the hospital 1 hour away...the allergic reaction to trhe meds had my face puffed up making me look like Quazimodo...

the last 3 days it's been soup with crushed crackers to make a mush...only 1 meal a day...

uhg...

Tonight I had to get dinner from the concession stand, because I'm trapped working at the arena. Granted, their onion straws don't necessarily suck, but their burgers are very reminiscent of cat food.

The Bride & I eat very few "Regular" meals any more. Maybe once or twice a week. Usually just a little bit of this, a little bit of that. I make salads and eat fruits & Veggies all day. A sandwich every once in a while. We get full very easily on next to nothing.
Right now, I'm eating Crunchy peanut butter out of the jar as I type this. (1AM MST)! Some milk and I'm off to bed.

Right out of the jar?  Interesting.

Salad these days hurts my teeth.  I'm now a right side chewer when salad is involved.

Tonight I'm having King Crab Legs, steamed.  Almost a pound.

Going off all iodine Tuesday night for a couple horrible weeks so I'm rewarding myself with something I usually would say I can't afford.
