Hope Lisa is feeling better.

We'll have been soup tonight.  At least I will.  If I remember, I'll add a picture.

Tonight racks of LAMB from Lava Lake Lamb, fried sliced new potatoes, starting out with a cup of our spicy Italian sausage noodle soup. Yeah, this will work for me!

On the way to work this morning I heard a random comment on the radio that the local Kroger carries Skyline Chili.  I went directly to the nearest one and bought two cans.  "Three way" for me tonight!

(But not for my in-house food cop, Mrs. Metro; she read the label and was horrified by the sodium content.  I won't let her poop this party - I told her that maybe all that sodium will mean I won't have to get up during the night!).

I made chicken enchiladas in casserole form. The recipe makes about a million, so half of them are in the freezer to be made later when I don't feel like cooking.

No, didn't make the latkes.  My cousins didn't, either.  They had the Latke Lady come to their house and make them with their ingredients.  This time besides the regular potato latkes there were nasty zucchini mint latkes.  The others seemed to like them, but I sure didn't.

If I were to send you a recipe it would be for hand grated (not like has browns) potatoes, onions, salt, egg, pepper and matzo meal.  Grated to a mush, not strands.

No, No, No!  I make the real thing from scratch.

We're out of B&M Baked Beans so after slicing and browning up the Hebrew National Hot Dogs, I opened a Can of Bush Baked Beans.  Not bad.

Hanger steaks with red wine mushroom sauce.
Seared sea scallops.
Creamy risotto with Parmigiano-Reggiano.
Sauteed Brussels sprouts with maple-balsamic vinaigrette.

Having 2 sons in chef's school has its advantages.

Work went long, the weather is crappy, and none of my regular drivers were working tonight, so...I'm having one of those 99 cent frozen pizzas and some yogurt.

JRPfeff - that's my kind of a dinner! Tonight we're winding down from a month of deer season ending today - all the Chrismas shopping was finished today and after a week of tropical rainforest weather a cold front's finally coming through and a high of 44 tomorrow will feel like winter for us.

2 NY strips on the grill right now - Baked Potatoes in the oven and a small romaine salad with avocado and tomatoes.  And of course a bottle of Cabernet.

Last night's dinner was a scrounge job for me.  I just kind of poked around the cupboards and fridge and had a little of this and a little of that...in the end I think it amounted to some farmer's cheese, black olives, chips and onion dip, salami, and roast beef.

Tonight I did ocean perch with a mayonnaise-Cajun-dill sauce, with Harvard beets and green beans with almonds on the side.

Apparently, I am now incapable of taking a picture of my meals...stupid surgery and then being sick has thrown off my whole kitchen kismet. Gotta work on that.

Tonight it was beans and greens with sausage. That's broccoli rabe sauteed in olive oil with garlic, red pepper flakes and cannellini beans, plus grilled hot Italian sausage.

We have a couple of Tito's in San Diego but they are both so far away it's not worth the time especially since I have at least 5 or 6 fast food Mexican places within 5 miles or less of us one being almost across the street.
There is a Chipoltles down the road from us!  My Son raves about it but ever since a dozen people or more got sick there last year I dont think I'll be trying it!

Your Tito's aren't the same as Tito's Tacos.  There was once two locations, the second on the corner of Beach and Ball in Anaheim or near Anaheim.  Now it's called something else with the same menu.

If you're even up this way visiting your son come up to Culver City and give Tito's a try.

I can't stand Chipotles.  I've now given it three tries and it didn't change my opinion.  However it is always packed... sort of like Tito's.

To me...a Taco is a Taco no matter who has them!
The very best Tacos can be found in TJ on the streets where they are loaded with Cilantro (yeah.......I know......you hate Cilantro) and Guacamole.
Now Burritos on the other hand are a beast of a different nature...........Some are really really good and some are AWESOME!   Personally my favorites are Chorizo and egg with melted cheese and Fish Burritos!  Oh yeah!
