My Woodman's grocery has more ramen than that and a much better selection.

Last night- Shad and shad roe, both sauted with butter.  Poached the roe a little first.  Sweet potatoes on the side.  Boy was that good.  One of the few foods that you must wait for the season.  Just as when I was a kid you HAD to wait until summer to get watermelon.

Leftover chicken-broccoli-edamame stir-fry, no rice. I didn't realize I was supposed to make dinner for 6pm when we stopped at Chipotle for lunch at 3:30.

That's hilarious!!!  I've never seen anything like that.

At Ranch 99, though, which is a grocery store out here specializing in Asian products, I have marveled at the array of fresh noodles, many of which show no discernible differences, and most of which are made within a 100-mile radius.  I often wonder why a shopper chooses one over another, but I've never asked...

Ooooohh!!!  Actually, there are quite a few Indian markets in Sunnyvale and Santa Clara (just south of me) because we have many Indian communities here.  But your Great Wall of Ramen was truly unique!!

So, are those all sorts of different Ramens, or just the usual 12 and 24 packs like one sees at Shoprite, except broken up for single sale?

That's a mere sliver of the Wall. Various varieties of unique Indian food flavors....that are also a little different in the texture compared to the variety found in Shoprite etc.

Last night's dinner was crab-crusted halibut topped with lemon beurre blanc, with a side of sauteed spinach. It was marvelous! The crab has a gentle spicyness that married perfectly with the halibut. lleechef refuses to tell me how she achieved that, insisting that when she dies that recipe will go to the grave with her.

I started with  a smoked pork tenderloin, also called a smoked shoulder butt (which my son thinks sounds hilarious!) braised it in water, chopped onion, garlic, celery, parsley, presoaked baby lima beans(one of the few beans my husband can eat without offending) and black pepper. No salt until I taste at the end. In the last 40 minutes I add about 2 cups of shredded kale and let it finish. So good!

That does look really good! I made meatloaf, with baked sweet potatoes and green beans. Meatloaf, no matter how good it tastes, makes incredibly unappetizing pictures, so I didn't bother.

After dealing with condo "issues" I drove through KFC.

My ham bone ended up in the freezer with the rest of the ham. Soup later.

Tonight I did baked tilapia with a mayonnaise-parmesan-dill sauce, lima beans from a can, and some frozen broccoli and carrots.

Queso Fondido with Chorizo which I saw on a Food Network show today. It looked so good I had to make it!

So delicious! The recipe can be found on Food Network's web site. I confess, I did get a little more creative with the cheeses and added some Manchego, Monterey Jack & Mozzarella to what the recipe called for.

CC:  Order one taco with cheese and one without and let me know which you like best!  I save the cheese for my bean and cheese burritos and tostadas.

Dressed up for the theater today and took my mother (my brother's gift to us) to see Talk of the Town.  Excellent show.

Then we dined in our finery at Phillipe's.   I had my standard... pork dip with coleslaw, a pickle and a pickled egg.

I'll do that! It's gonna be CCinCA for a least a month at this point.

The bean & cheese burritos & tostadas will come in handy. This particular Sister is a Vegetarian. I'll have to bring something back to my other Sister who's also in Cali. My Mother is very curious as to why I'm so excited about tacos. Tacos? Tacos?
