Yes, every time I come on I have to manually reset my last visit time.

How do you do that?

Near the top of the page (when you're on the forums home page) there are three links: Site Map | Mark All Forums Read | Reset Last Visit Time

Click on the one to reset last visit time, and choose the date and time after which you want new posts to show.

Last night it was Dinner at Pacino's in Tehachapi. The owner is originally from the Bronx. My nephew was our wonderful server...

I had delicious eggplant rollatini...

Pacino's has some fun Pacino art...

We stoked up the BBQ after not having done so for some time and I made these................

They were served on top of Cheddar/Jalapeno buns and we also had BBQd Corn on the Cobb and BBQd Zuccinni.

The chops were too fatty.  Can't tell from the package.

Four more to enjoy at a later date.

No more Ultra.

I wish I'd had some of those chops, fatty or not! Or a burger. Or some eggplant rollatini. Instead, I threw some frozen broccoli-cheddar stuffed breaded chicken in the oven, opened a can of green beans, and we finished off the cottage cheese.

Nope. Just salt and pepper. I don't really like stuff on my cottage cheese, although that's how most people eat it.

Mar - the mussels had thin slices of sauteed fennel in butter and garlic with basil garnish, and toasted bread to soak up sauce. So delicious--why the heck did I wait so long!

CC - what song is that??

The year was 1983. Let's listen to Ms. Diana Ross sing the song I want mussels.

For some reason that link didn't go to a video, so I did a search and found one, and holy mackerel--that's a strange video!  Undulating body builders and Buster Keaton??  Somebody was trippin when they made that! " />

Excuse the ad in front of the video (I hate that):

Please pardon the digression.  Back to dinner discussions!

I didn't think when I thought Thai for the mussels.  Served with pommes frites....  not Thai.

My birthday dinner in January:

I wanted breakfast. The best part is I actually made notes while I was putting this together so I can do it again.

Looks great Felix! We had grilled steaks of various cuts (filet, boneless rib eye, rib and first cut chuck steak (My daughter Katie's favorite, she likes a little chew). I used a little apple wood  for some smoke flavor. We had it with a melody of mushrooms and curly fries (courtesy of my son Kyle). A side salad was available for those that wanted it!

Mar - those you had look meatier to me.  Mine seemed tiny, but they were quite tender.  I'd go back for them!

Agnes - those steaks with smoke sound delicious.  I'm going to try that in my stovetop smoker one of these days.

Had ballpark food--nachos with carnitas, guacamole, pico de gallo, peppers, cheese sauce, rice (skipped the beans) which basically acted as dinner.

I'd love having muscles again.  They're just never enough for me.  I like them too much and hate when I get to the last one.  Thinking I have one more when I don't is even worse.

I went to a family gathering this evening to meet a new 9 month year old cousin... Sasha.  His given name is Alexander.  Guess where his mother is from.

We had grilled chicken apple sausages, brisket sliders and many different salads.

I want some of that grilled beef topped with those mushrooms.

Had the most delectable, tender prime rib, with Yorkshire pudding, creamed spinach, and baked potato with all the works at the House of Prime Rib in SF with CCinNJ!  This San Francisco classic is old school--dimly lit, with cushy booths, a very simple menu, huge carving stations, and attentive service.  Wonderful dining experience. Too dark for good pics, and I didn't want to use flash.  However, their Web site has a good video with Bourdain, showing what the place is like.  Just click on the photos/videos link.

Earlier we were at the Ferry Building, then went to Tartine Bakery, Bi-Rite Market and Creamery, and a macaron shop.  We walked our tushies off!

Amazing meal at The House of Prime Rib. I will try to old-school some pics when I get back to the desert. Here's the baked potato royal treatment....

A wonderful tableside operation of precision & tradition.

I think I could have wheeled it right out during one of the very many rounds of Happy Birthday. I was ready to call Birthday BullSh*t.
