Copper River salmon goes for $9.95lb around here.
The steelhead are starting to run up the Columbia, I'm right at the mouth.
My neighbor loves to fish, but does not eat it, there will be fresh salmon on my table soon!

We had six different plans for dinner, but finally ended up stopping at Izzy's Burger Spa (again in South Lake Tahoe, where I'll be for another week). I had their ranch burger (BBQ sauce and onion), my friend had their chili cheese dog, and we split an order of nacho fries.

I made a rhubarb compote and a Dutch baby pancake for dinner.  Tasted great but not pretty enough to photograph, as the rhubarb wasn't red.

Ahhh--you're lucky!  Not only is your rhubarb free, but at the market I paid $5/lb--not $3.  It was the first I'd seen this season, and I was happy to get it.

Agnes - that's some feast!  Your family is very fortunate.

Yesterday we went on a spending spree at Overland Meat  & Seafood Co. http://overlandmeatco.com/

The way everyone here puts it is it's where the locals go for meats when they have money or it's a special occasion. Last night for dinner we had their marinated steak kebabs, along with some rosemary and garlic sourdough bread (with olive oil and balsamic for dipping) from the Truckee Sourdough Company. However, I forgot to take pictures as we were entertaining and were a trifle tipsy by the time we ate (accompanying dinner was a great deal of Pyramid Apricot Ale and some Fat Tire when we ran out of the Pyramid).

Tonight we had their baby back ribs, wild boar sausage, organic chicken hot dogs, and some grilled zucchini topped with fresh basil, tomato, and mozzarella. Today we are laying off the adult beverages.

I made a masterpiece tonight....Oscar Meyer Bologna & Kraft American Cheese with Best Foods Mayo, French's ****ty yellow mustard, Iceburg Lettuce & Ruffles chips on Wheat.
Hand full of chips on the side & a couple of Mt Olive dill pickles.
All washed down with a diet A&W Root Beer.

I want to eat at everyone's house!

I usually do burgers and hot dogs for the 4th but I had a bunch of frozen pork chops left over from Mother's Day.  I made the mistake of telling my family that I was making them and no one wanted them.

So...  I folded them up and turned the chops in to kebobs.

Tonight we had their baby back ribs, wild boar sausage, organic chicken hot dogs, and some grilled zucchini topped with fresh basil, tomato, and mozzarella.
This sounds interesting!  Mrs. Chicken likes zucchini so I might have to give this a try.  Did you eat it hot or at room temperature?

Agnes, did you have to order the Jack Miller's sauce?  I went to the company website and learned that it comes from Ville Platte, Louisiana, and I know I've never seen it before.

Nice job with the chops, Mar!

Yes, I ordered it from Cajungrocer.com. It was part of my husband's Father's Day gift. I ordered that, Boudin and 5lbs of head on gulf shrimp. He grew up eating Jack Miller's and loves it so I order it every once in a while.

Somewhere in between, but closer to hot. We ate them probably 10 minutes after they came off the grill. The original recipe calls for baking them at 375 for 20-30 minutes, but we just put them on foil on a grill pan for 10-15 minutes. We've learned if you mix the basil and tomato with some olive oil, fresh ground black pepper, and some garlic-sea salt seasoning and let it sit for 30-60 minutes it's even better.
