What kind of a grill do you have?
Looks like you've had it awhile...  well seasoned.

It's been in the 80s here this week and I'm thinking of trying out my Weber Q grill.  I need to pick up a couple of those disposable propane canisters.  The thing has never been used and I've owned it a couple of years.

I'm thinking burgers as the Big Green Egg is too much trouble for burgers.

Today we did dinner for lunch due to an incredibly stupid work schedule (9-1, then back from 6-11). So we did Chinese...spicy Sechuan (which I cannot spell to save my life) shrimp, fried rice, egg roll, and hot & sour soup. With an additional side of crab rangoons because I'm pretty sure they're made out of crack I love them so.

Terrific.  It took me probably twenty years to stop humming that tune.

Now it's back.

We're having Beefaroni, it's beef and macaroni....

Thank you, Brad.

Had to go to Attman's Deli today to pick up  corned beef, pastrami, hot dogs and pickles for the Super Bowl meal(would have been cheaper to have a catered meal...lol) and could not resist having a corned beef sandwich and a can of Dr. Brown's cream soda!

Steak Fajitas, I like making these using sirloin steak, we raise our own so good tender cuts are easy to come by.

Peppers, onions and mushrooms sauting....

Marinated seasoned beef added to the pan........

Done, ready to put on to a Tortilla.

Time to eat, with refried beans and sourcream.

What kind of a grill do you have?

Grill Zone...3 main burners + a side burner...each burner is 12,500 BTU

Looks like you've had it awhile...  well seasoned.

I've had it only since last June...it was on sale at a hardware store for roughly $150...I've used EVERY day except about 12 rain days...sometimes I use it twice in 1 day...such as today...

It's been in the 80s here this week and I'm thinking of trying out my Weber Q grill.  I need to pick up a couple of those disposable propane canisters.  The thing has never been used and I've owned it a couple of years.

A couple of years...???

My only complaint about my grill is the slot in the rear isn't very tall and getting foil in and out of the lower pan to line it is a real pain...besides redesigning that, I'd go 1 step further and make the lower firebox pan into a sliding broiler drawer...

I agree about the green egg...they're great anytime you want lots of constant even heat...such as a roast...

45* and the almost full moon is rising as I grill up a couple of burgers for a late lunch...a large covey of quail went flying past me, and within a minute another covey flew past me...each covey is 12 to 15 birds...

I've seen Red Tail hawks each day for the last 3 days...and saw a Kestril Falcon run off a raven...

I brined a Chicken last night, cut it in half, so I could make a Roasted lemon chicken with Roasted vegetables. The other half is cut up for Shoyu Chicken, a favorite and popular plate lunch in Hawaii. The lemon Roasted Chicken was tender and juicy and the roasted vegeatbles were great.....

Cut up chicken for the Shoyu Chicken later

Lemon and spices and orange zest under skin.......

Ready for the oven

a piece of the chicken breast with the roasted vegetables

Amazing!  Love the idea of whacking the chicken in half.  I happen to have a Chinese cleaver that needs a workout.

I usually do the under the skin thing with minced garlic and rosemary and stuff the lemon in the cavity.  Now I have to try your recipe....  What's in your brine?

I usually do the under the skin thing with minced garlic and rosemary and stuff the lemon in the cavity.  Now I have to try your recipe....  What's in your brine?

1 Gal water
3/4 C Kosher Salt
2/3 C Sugar
3/4 C Soy Sauce
1/4 C Olive oil

It says to use warm water, I used cold water and just made sure the sugar and salt dissolve. I Brined this chicken over night for about 14 hrs. The Chicken was real juicy and tender, I cooked the Chicken at 400 degree for about an hour. The vegetables are tossed with olive oil, cajun sea, gran garlic, salt, pepper, parsley, paprika. After the lemon slices were put under the skin, I rubbed olive oil, lemon pepper and paprika..............I am looking into more flavor infused brines, I'll let you know how it works out..........I'm doing a Shoyu Chicken with the other half, making fried rice, to give me a different taste/method and still doing Chicken one day apart. I like Chicken so to me it doesn't matter, I like the idea of using one chicken for tree meals, Chicken soup. Roasted and Shoyu and maybe even some chicken salad if there is some roasted left over. The brining does great with fried chix, if your going to do boneless chicken breast, it only takes a few hrs and bit longer with the bone in, over night with a whole chix...............Take care...............Bill

Lunch today was grilled bone-in chicken thighs...

I threw some spices into a bag and did the shake-em-up thing...then let sit for 3 hours...

I waited for the rain to subside...and then preheated the grill, cleaned it, pre-oiled the grill with peanut oil...

Cooked with the hood down on a gas grill in the middle... after an initial sear the middle burner is turned off and the chicken cooks with indirect heat...the built in temperature gauge is about 2 inches above the chicken and it will cook at about 400* when there is no wind with indirect heat using only the left and right burners...and when it's time to grease it with bbq sauce, the middle burner goes back on to "put flame to the chicken"...

Yummy...

My, I guess you could call it lunch, was a leftover piece of hot Italian sausage with some leftover (leftover from way back) gravy on an almost stale hot dog bun. It was delicious.

I went to a congratulatory party for my mother's caregiver's (Leny) daughter who graduated from nursing school.

There were probably 100 or more people there.  Everyone was Filipino except for Mom and me and everyone was dressed in scrubs... except for Mom and me.

The authentic Filipino food was prepared by Leny's family members and friends from her church.  It went on and on!

My plate:

Very interesting.  I'd never had jack fruit before.  It was in one of the entrees and one of the desserts.  Loved the dessert which was a pudding. (I think)
