Ed, I think I'd kill for those!

I love the dark mole sauce.  Used to buy it by the quart a couple times a year in Tijuana but I can't go there anymore.  Scary place!

I've even tried Guelaguetza on Olympic and didn't like it as much as I had hoped. and moles are their specialty.

The TexMeX place a couple of blocks from us serves that dark Mole sauce as does 2 or 3 other local places within a mile or so from us!  Its not uncommon!

I can get the dark mole in a lot of places.  What I'm looking for is incredible mole sauce that I want to tell the world about.

I used to get a good mole by my shop.  Armenian owned Mexican restaurant.  Loved everything about it!

I made smoked salmon hash.  Probably should've put more oil in the pan and cooked the potatoes longer, but I was trying to "be good."  Maybe next time, although it was tasty as is.

We were out and about, and I was starving like I'd never eaten before, so we went to Anna's House (http://www.annashousegr.com/) for breakfast. I took the pancakes, potatoes and half of the sugar bread home, and I'm pretty sure I don't need to eat again until Tuesday.

I needed some veggies and fruit as well as some items for our Memorial Day Neighborhood Block BBQ so I went to my favorite Persian market, the Crown Valley Market. I bought fresh dill, fennel, Persian cucumbers, plain yogurt, shallots, fresh pita bread and more. On the way out, I stopped at the grill they have on the weekends done by the Persian restaurant, Bahar, upstairs from the market. I ordered the special, two skewers of ground chicken and ground beef koobideh, served with grilled tomato, fresh herbs and the bakery specialty, fresh sanjak bread.

Grilling the skewers

My order hot off the grill

The completed box lunch

the grilled chicken, tomato and beef

placed on a strip of fresh sanjak bread and ready to roll and eat

I love this food! I shop a lot at this market, excellent produce, good meats, grape seed oil, baklava and fresh sanjak bread from the bakery and all sorts of other Middle Eastern goodies. What an awesome lunch!

Today for lunch we went to Los Guachos Taqueria.  I had one Al Pastor (left) and one Asada and a very refreshing mango soda.  They were accompanied by wedges of lime, an interesting assortment of shredded vegetables (onion, celery) in a soy-like sauce, cilantro sauce and an interesting hot sauce which did not seem hot at the beginning, but crept up on you.  The mango soda helped to put out the fire in my mouth!!!!  (MH had 3 Al Pastor.)

My niece makes this killer sausage, kale and bean soup, which I was lucky enough to snag a bowl of before her kids devoured it.

Lunch today was a surprise treat. lleechef gave me a choice of three places -- Katzinger's delicatessen and Tommy's Diner in Columbus and Crabill's in Urbana. We went to Crabill's. She had two doubles with mustard and relish and I had three doubles with mustard relish and chopped onions. We each had a Stewart's root beer. For dessert we headed to Henry's in West Jefferson. lleechef had the cherry pie and I had a slice of banana cream pie. We also got three slices to go -- one coconut cream for her mother, and one slice each of peach and blackberry for our neighbors across the road.
