The small chain CheeBurger-CheeBurger has a 20 ounce burger that if you buy it and eat ALL of it, they take your picture and put it on their wall of fame. I tried it..my picutre ain't there! I know they have some locations across the country, but the only 1 I know of is in a shopping plaza in Timonium,Maryland across from the State Fair Grounds.

Don't know the weight, but the two biggest burgers that I've had are the "Grease Rack" burger from a private bar/steakhouse of the same name in Newport, Tennessee (near Pigeon Forge) and the "Bubba Burger" from Fugler's Market near Marshall, Texas. Both burgers are really good!

lleechef. The "Coffeyburger" at Sioux Sundries in Harrison, Nebraska, beats Bob's bar by 1/2 pound. But the price is higher. I have never eaten one, but they look truly awesome. The original owner of the store made them from ranch hands, tiny little town, but LOTS of folk stop by for a burger.

An uncle of mine used to own and operate a cafe/bar at the Kansas City Stockyards. I guess everything is relative, but to a seven-year-old, the hamburger Uncle Dee served looked bigger than a hub cap.

Legallady, I certainly hope you mean that those burgers were made FOR ranch hands, and not what you wrote!

Romine's serves up the 4 lb. Ethyl Special burger. I have never had it but look forward to trying it one day - with a group of friends.

Biggest one I ever tried to eat was in Seattle at a motorhome show... It seemed to be almost size of plate (I split it with brother). It was called an Earthquake burger and by the time I finished half of it, my stomach felt like a small quake! Very juicy burger it was and I had to get many napkins to wipe my elbows! I still dream of that burger!

I can now say that I've had a 1 lb. burger , not at Adrian's pictured above but at a new place that opened up about a mile from me - Stamps Superburger. The family is from Jackson, MS, where they operate a couple of burger joints; a family member has moved here.

The meat hangs out of the bun like those pork tenderloin sandwiches pictured on this site. It was a very good burger -- not the best in the city, but very good. I made the mistake of getting fries, too. I was stuffed. That's all I ate all day and I wasn't hungry the next day, either.

I will not be doing this regularly .

Whenever I'm in the mood for a really good, really BIG burger, I go to a place here in Amarillo named Arnolds.

http://www.arnoldburgers.com/

I have to admit that the biggest burger I've ever had there is one of their 'regulars' with cheese because it's about as much as I can handle! They make the biggest burgers I've ever seen or heard of anywhere. There's a section of their menu (there is a link to it on their website) that they call "Specialty Burgers", and some of those things are absolutely huge! Arnolds is in a very small building, and they can only hold a few people at a time, but they also do take out, and the big monsters actually come in a pizza-sized box. They also offer burgers in different shapes such as hearts (clogged arteries make a great Valentine's Day gift!), Christmas trees, turkeys (???), and even The State of Texas.

I think the food at Arnolds is great, and I eat there fairly often. For anybody passing through Amarillo, they're located close to I-40, and I would recommend stopping by if you're REALLY hungry.

In case anybody wonders, I'm not involved or associated with Arnolds in any way. I just think they serve a dynamite hamburger and want to share the information with others like myself who may be on the lookout for great Roadfood. We all depend on each other to spread the word, right?

I have personally experienced the Coffee Burger. At 28 oz, it's the largest I have ever had.

Fat Mo's in Nashville had a pounder I was able to eat 3/4 of. That was in my college days. Now I wouldn't make it that far.
Unless the meat's really good, I can't see eating more than a 1/2 pounder.

I had the 1lb. burger at the Fuddrucker's in Burbank, CA. Yeah, it was very big and I ate the whole thing, but wouldn't call it the "World's Greatest Hamburger."

I saw this hamburger but did not eat this hamburger. I was in FL last week, in a little town called Mulberry, outside Tampa. I was late getting to a customer so they said they'd phone in an order to THE FISH HOUSE and I'd pick up and bring in. I ordered a fried grouper sand. and picked up 3 of the burger platters.
They were awesome to behold. Had to be at least 4 inches thich and looked really good!
This place was just a little corner establishment but it won a "best burger" contest and business has picked up a lot. BTW, my fish sandwich was out of this world as well!

They're not as monstrously huge as some of the burgers mentioned here, but the awful awfuls at the four bucks. I could only eat half of mine and was pretty stuffed, but my freakishly skinny boyfriend (it figures) ate two!

ok, i don't know how my reply got so messed up, but I was referring to the awful awful burger at the golden nugget in Reno, NV. They come with fries and are something like $3.50, which is a pretty great deal. (plus they are served on a yummy onion roll)

There is a place here in town that serves the biggest burger, locally (Jamestown, NY). It's called Alfie's, and their burger is called the Uncle Al. It's huge! I would say it's six inches across. They put a slice of ham on it, pickles, onion, tomato, lettuce, cheese, thousand island dressing. They will make it any way you want though. It comes with steak fries, but I usually tell them to leave those off.

King Kong's in Omaha NE has a GREAT 1 1/2lb burger for $6.99. I also like FuddRucker's 1lb'er as well. I never go for anything less than 1/2 lb.

Sioux Sundries in Harrison NE has a burger on the menu even bigger than the Coffee, it's called the Mountain Man Burger and is 4 lbs. of 85/15 Ground 100% Angus Beef. It's big and taste great, you'd wish you could finish it. If you do finish the Coffe or MM you get your photo on the wall. This last summer Sioux Sundries for the Crawford NE July 4th Celebration cooked up on site a 30 lb. Angus burger, and it was placed in a large round loaf of bread. Guiness accepted it as the worlds largest commercially prepared burger. They say they'll cook them for special order but the cost to have one of these 30 lb. burgers catered is $150. $5, per pound of beef.

You know I was thinking, there's nothing that says I'd have to go to Denny's BB Pub or anywhere else to have a huge burger. All I have to do is buy 3 lbs of meat, a pound or so of cheese, a head of lettuce and a jar of pickles, a couple onions and tomatoes, a jar of mayo, and a big round loaf of unsliced bread... and a whole bottle of propane, too I guess!
