There are no Quizno's in this area so the commercial doesn't run here. BUT, I'm well acquainted with the "rathergood" website. Alas the spongmonkeys are not my favorite on there. I prefer the Viking Kittens and the Northenders kitties street band.

I have lived in Bridgeport during the early days of Subway. I can't remember where his first shop was.

Of course. I forgot. You're one of the East-enders.

Actually, I was from the north end. (that's where the good pizza was at!) Ace is an east-ender.

Ah, OK. The north end? My wife grew up on West Taft.

No, she went to Northfield School For Girls in Northfield, Mass. She went to Nathan Hale grammar school, and I think the name of her junior high was Maplewood. Her older brother went to Central. So, as I recall, did Porky Vierra.

I hate that commercial and will not patronize the chain as long as they run it. It is the most annoying thing on TV, and that includes any videos run on MTV and the Anna Nicole show.

if you think that's the most annoying thing on TV, then may I suggest to you that you are not watching enough TV?

I have yet to see that Quizno's commercial.

time to watch something other than PBS, my friend. Maybe try the Law and Order Network, it's on there a lot.

Law and Order Network? I don't get that one. There are Quizno's all over here, and I believe the chain began in Columbus, but they must not advertise on ESPN.

I just recently saw this ad for the first time. Those things are gross. Scary looking, in fact. My kids had already seen it - the older two referred to them as hamsters, and the 6-year-old said, "Those are hamsters? I thought they were pieces of uncooked chicken!"

What were they thinking? What really disturbs me is the thought that Quizno's will be selling stuffed animal-like versions of those before too long. Blech!

I thought you meant an actual network named Law and Order.

I think this thread needs closure. This whole thing is starting to sound like the Taco Bell tomato wage, etc., thingie. Of course, that's only MY opinion....[|)]

Their food is the best. The pepper bar has more than just bannana peppers, they also have Greek/Italian Peppers and Jalapeno peppers, plus Chef Jimmies 3 pepper sauce.

All bow to Quiznos.

I've only been to Quizno's once and I didn't think it was great. I liked the idea of having the sub toasted but it seemed more just warmed up a little than actually toasted. Will they run it through that toaster more than once if you ask them to?

It's USA. THey show it a lot. "L&O" is a very serious show, and after all the murder and mayhem, here come the Spongemonkeys!

I've never really understood why anyone would want to buy a sub in the first place, unless it came from a small Italian grocery store. I mean, they're so easy to make. A loaf of bread, olive oil, salt and pepper, Genoa salami, sopprasetta, mortadella, capicola, provolone, lettuce, onion, tomato, olives and roasted peppers. Simple. And so very good.

Sopresatta is great! I used to get it at an Italian deli in NE Baltimore but I moved too far away to make the trip and went
under awhile later. I used to use sopresatta, mortadello, and
a little prosciutto. For some reason capicola used to be hard to
get in Baltimore, I am seeing it more often.

Maybe it's because I'm so thoroughly sick of Arby's Oven Mitt, but I like the Quizno's Hamster-Monkeys. They strike me as anti-cute-and-cuddly, and that's never a bad thing. I don't know that they'd make me think of Quizno's any more than I normally would, but we're not overly burdened with good sandwich places around here. Given the choice between Quizno's, Subway, Jersey Mikes, and Penn Station, I'd take Quizno's just because the restaurants I've been in have tended to be cleaner than the competition. I like the pepper bar also. It's not exactly far reaching, but it beats a blank.

I too, love the spongmonkeys.... and if I hadn't already tried out local Quizno's and been disgusted by the barely toasted subs, the uninspiring meats and cheeses, and the lukewarm soups, I might think about eating there.
