where was I at day 29 of my road trip???
this should be a easy one ......... the food is so so but you can't pass it by without stopping

God how we hate I-40.............. but unfortunately it's the only and fastest way home after a visit with friends in Tunica MS and the end of our road trip down the Mississippi River starting in Minnesota and ending as we crossed the river at Helena AK to join I-40. Here's the worst part ....lol we are spending tonight in ......lol Barstow CA .one day short of San Jose......... Barstow a town God forgot........ Schwarzenegger doesn't think much of it either and Linda and I cant wait for tomorrow morning....... Frank

no way Cajun........... a 72oz. steak? I probably could 10 years ago but today a 2 pounder is all I can handle.......

I don't see how Frank Pastore (former REDS picture)did it in 9 1/2 minutes.

We are talking a 4 1/2 lb steak, baked potato, salad, dinner & shrimp cocktail all in 9 1/2 minutes.

or the guy who ate 2 in a row!

Or the 110 lb, 78 yr old lady who did it in 40+ minutes.

Read my note on Barstow on the "Worst places to live" thread. Lots of neat things to do there...especially for a military-lore lover ! Another stop not far away.. The NASA site at Edwards allow visitors... and Dick Rutann's experimental aircraft factory at the Mojave Airport has a "gift shop" with some unique airplane stuff for sale. Don't miss a chance to see the Tehachapi Loop as you come down the hill west of the town of Techachapi! It is still a marvel of Railroad engineering.

Where am I AT??? (And yes, I lived near same in the past...)

well this could be anywhere in the Caribbean there are many forts like them there............ it's Spanish ....... and probably Cuba or Puerto Rico

BTW, this picture was taken from a foot bridge up behind the castle.

The rocks look volcanic, and the architecture certainly has a Spanish fort type look to it...it culd also be in the Med some where.

I was there about six years ago. Amazing feat but the poor guy did not get to finish it. He spent too much money and they put him in some type of mental hospital and they found him floating I think the next day. Some said suicide and some said murder.

I also was on the foot bridge behind the castle. I have a fear of heights and I almost had to crawl across.

I did the Texan thing about a year ago. I sat at the front hoping to see someone do the 72 oz thing but they did not. I got a porterhouse and it was OK+ a little bit. Salad was good though.

I spent a lot of time in Germany. I'll bet I have driven 10K miles there. My favorite European country.

no DD I don't think the Med........... the rock formation looks Caribbean sea so my finial answer is ...Puerto Rico. El Morro is Puerto Rico's best known fortress and I was there as a young sailor ......... and not to long ago I visited San Juan as a stop off on my way to Cuba ....... I say "El Morro, Puerto Rico"
