For those of you who are headed to NOLA for Mardi Gras and/or The Roadfood Adventure, here's Epicurious.com's take on where to eat by category - High End, Budget, Hot Spots and Local Favorites.

For some reason Travel and Food Magazines pick up places to write about that everyone knows about.  They don't know about Parkway Bakery, Italian Barrell, Tracey's, Coop's, Johnny's, Mena's, Cooter Brown's, Trolley Stop Cafe, Adolpho's, Mahoney's, Casamento's, Lilette, Drago's et al.  Most of the places in this magazine article are highly known joints that have been around a long time.  They are all outstanding but there are over 1,000 restaurants in NOLA and many have never been heard of.  Rue 127 is a good new one.
