Where to eat in Frederick. MD

I'll be in Frederick, MD over the weekend and was wondering if anyone has any eating tips for that area?

We have never eaten there but have heard good things about it and it sounds like a ROADFOOD place to me!

Great pies and cakes.....Barbara Fritchie is a must. If you would like something more formal try Dutchess Daughter.

OK, OK, I just returned from Barbara Fritchies for the 2nd night in a row. I don't get it. Friday night I had their "special" It was cat fish and hush puppies. BORING!!!
All deep fried and just bland and boring. No flavor at all.
The chocolate cream pie was respectable.
Tonight I asked the waitress what was the thing to get. She explained that their meats were the thing. Their pork, beef and turkey was all prepared on premises. She recommend the Turkey Plater. I went with it and although way better than the catfish, it was only mediocre at best. I asked about the coconut cream pie, someone suggested but they were out so I went with the egg custard. It was good but not special.
Now, have I just not ordered the right stuff or has this place gone down the tubes?
I guess I won't go back there.
Anyone have any other recommendations in Frederick?

For lunch try AKA Friscos , Very good sandwichs Salads etc, A high point is the exploded potatos,
Barley and Hops on rt 355 is very good, A brew pub with a wide varity of food ,
Its in the parking lot in front of a Target,
Olde Town Tavern on Market st in Frederick proper has good bar food and great burgers,
For coffee shops try Federick Coffee Co on east ST
About 15-20mi north of Frederick in Chubbys BBQ worth the drive .

I've always liked Tauraso's http://www.taurasos.com/ I've had great salad's, sandwhiches & ciopinnio there

They now have a great breakfast buffet , Mon thru Sat 7 to 10, Eggs to order, Smoked Salmon , Waffle to order ,Bacon Sausage , Beverage and much more , For 10 bucks,
I think its the best deal in FRederick.

I liked the suggestions since I live about 45 minutes from there and go there about once a month.

Sorry to hear about your Barbara Fritchie Restaurant experience in Frederick, Maryland, KATMAAN. I'm unsure what went wrong espscially with you going there twice. Tauraso's is quite good but less of a RoadFood place. Better luck next time!
