Where would you wish to see great BBQ?

If your town doesn't have it, where would that be?

No one seems to want to do ribs, except for the larger restaurants, and then its only Babies...
Cant find a St.Louis, or spare rib around here.

Matilda, wasn't I quite surprised to find it on my plate tonight:

Amy had cooked Alabama BBQ sandwiches with white BBQ sauce on little sweet potato biscuits tonight for dinner. I walked in from work and was floored by the aroma of pork simmering in homemade vinegar sauce. The pork was ultra-tender, the biscuits deftly sweet with cinnamon highlights, and the white sauce was tangy and thick.

There are one or two places in "Metro South" Boston where I live that claim to do barbecue, but I've never heard anything good about them and from the menus they sound like sports bars that serve ribs. (We live close to Gillette Stadium, home of the Patriots, so any place with beer and a big television does business.)

I'd love to see something approaching real 'cue in my area.

We need it badly in New Mexico! We have great green and red chile, but no super outstanding BBQ joints!

We desperately need some in the Atlantic City area!!

We had a Damon's for about 10 years, (a chain based in Ohio), but they just sold that location.
A "Chickie and Pete's" sports bar opened there in it's place.
I always wished Damon's had beef ribs, anyway, but they did'nt ... and I thought the place was hit or miss.

We've got a Famous Dave's now in the area... a few things are good there, but still no beef ribs.
Enough with these chains already, anyway..

Anybody listening out there?!? Bring more BBQ joints to Atlantic County! And have some beef ribs on the menu please!

Hi Ellen, this isn't exactly around the corner, but last year I had some real good BBQ at Christine's House of Kingfish on Rt 206N in Shamong. I'm not exactly sure where you are but it's probably no more than 1/2 hour away. It's open all year round, unlike Uncle Dewey's in that same area which is seasonal.

I don't recall if they have beef ribs ( I had BBQ chicken and a brisket sandwich). The phone # is 609-268-3600. Another thing I liked was that the location in a shack in the middle of nowhere made me feel I was at some roadside joint in North Carolina or something.

    Hope you're doing well. ---Ken

Hello, I am from Eastern NC right along Brunswick County Virginia. Ralph's Baebecue is about 30 minutes from us but our county doesn't have a single barbecue joint! So I'd like to see one in Northampton County,NC.

    hi Ken,
I'll have to try the Kingfish sometime...sounds like it's near Hammonton... reminds me of this place called Crabby's which is past Mays Landing, but it feels so rustic, as well..

I'll occasionally go to Fat Jacks' BBQ in Clemonton for their beef ribs. It's a 40 minute drive, ( not Atlantic County) a few miles from the Clemonton Amusement Park. Just wanted to give them an honorable mention cause they are decent. They used to have a location in Vineland.

CT - anywhere! We have a few in CT (mostly western CT) but only 1 or 2 are noteworthy. You can never have too many good authentic BBQ joints IMO.

Definitely need better BBQ in Park City, UT. Although there is a few good spots in SLC, there is only very poor BBQ joints in PC. Bummer

    hey, Bluemaxx, it's Ellen,
What about the beef ribs at the Grubsteak on Sidewinder Dr. ? (across from Quality Inn, I believe) I want to try them on my next visit.
I loved their salad bar, and the big rustic western motiff.
And it's the only place in the country that I know of that had a "steak and prime rib" combo on the menu.... (that was my idea of heaven...! yum)

BBQ places on Long Island seem like they are popping up with great frequency. I enjoy both Bobbique in Patchogue and Smokin' Al's in Bay Shore (and I understand a second location is on the way).

Tony Bad (and I think Scott) has mentioned another place out in Suffolk County that I didn't get the chance to try on my last visit, but plan to in the future.

Anyway, of all the places listed here, it seems like there is a coming BBQ saturation point on Long Island!
