Where's The NFL Chatter (2012-13 Version)?

Two of the top franchises in the NFL, the Steelers and the Giants, play each on Sunday.  I have two questions:
 
1. Who is Rooney Mara rooting for?
2. Will there be peace in the Hoffman house?

 HELL NO!!!!!
She'll be watching in one room and I'll be watching in another. lleechef will likely be wearing the Squealers hoodie she bought last week in the Strip District, plus her Squealers turtleneck. I, on the other hand, will be attired in normal human being clothing, quietely enjoying the spectacle as the New York Football Giants continue the drive toward their Super Bowl destiny.

Sorry Michael, but you know who's side I am on in this!  But this is probably a smart move watching them in seperate rooms. 

You know, BB, the people of Western Pennsylvania won't know it if you stay home and root for the Giants.
 

Of course I have Steelers gear!  I'm proud to be a Steelers fan!!  Michael, on the other hand, must be embarassed to be a Giants fan because he doesn't have any.  No matter, the Steelers are going to kick the Giants' butts!!!

I do not wear fan clothing. I am above that sort of thing. I  do not wear advertising of any sort, unless I am paid to do so by the advertiser. (I even cut off the Levi tags on my jeans, and require the dealers to remove the dealer logos from my vehicles.)

Due to the storm, the hotel where the Stillers were going to stay has no electricity and there's no place else for them to stay----so----they're flying in Sunday AM, suiting up, kicking butt, showering, getting on the plane and flying back home in time to have a Cold Iron City and watch the Sunday night game. Go Stillers!!!

He might be a Steeler for now but I think this guy has a future with the Cowboys or Bengals...and since he's just a rookie he could go on to put up some impressive stats!

No doubt about it, the Steelers had a bad year.  Yet, there is no bitterness, recrimination, blame assigning, second-guessing, etc. in Steeler Nation.  So, health & good luck to the Ravens and Bengals.

It's somewhat rare but it happens...Bears fans everywhere are hoping the Packers beat the Vikings this coming Sunday because that coupled with a Chicago win in Detroit (never a sure thing) would put the Bears into the sixth and final playoff spot...at least that's how I understand it.
 
And speaking of the Bears, Mr. Dick Butkus recently celebrated his 70th birthday.  His mustache, however, is still in its early 40s.

Ahem!  I believe we have a slight contradiction here.  Even if the enjoyment the NFL brings you is of the schadenfreude variety, it is enjoyment nonetheless.

Wow!  The Redskins v. the Cowgirls for the NFC East title that no decent team wants to win.  Who'd a thunk that? 
 
As a life-long Steelers fan who has lived in both D.C. and Dallas those two teams are 2-a) and 2-b) for me as their winning makes many of my friends happy.
 
So, who to root for (or against)? 
 
Unlike the sainted Rooneys, both little Danny Snyder and Jerry "G.M.-4-life" Jones are easily disliked.  But, Dastardly Dan, a.k.a.the Potomac Beaver-Boy, has a real edge in vileness, perfidy, cupidity, and even vanity; so, advantage Cowboys.
 
However, given the Cowboy's talent, Tomlin and LeBeau would have them in the Super Bowl; so congratulations to the Shanahans for a good coaching job; advantage, Skins.
 
And then there's this RGIII kid:  remarkable talent, character, and attitude.  Gotta root for him (especially after ignorantly mocking him in post #2 above) over that underachieving, entitled &%&*-ing glob of uncoordinated talent G.M. Jerry has thrown together like a Pollock painting, then pampered, spoiled, and - for the most part - kept out of jail.
 
So, on balance, I'm rooting for the Redskins this Sunday evening.  (And hope that some Redskins employee makes off with little Danny's parking receipts!).

I don't know if he's eligible for Coach of the Year, but Bruce Arians led the Colts to a 9-3 record while Chuck Pagano was being treated for leukemia.  As far as I'm concerned he deserves some serious consideration.

Well, I'll always be a Chiefs fan, futile though that pursuit might be.
We are actually closer to SF than Seattle and the 49'ers are the team most root for around these parts, but I've always been put off by their air of superiority,
so I enjoyed it greatly when the Seahawks destroyed them.
That said, I still dislike the NFC. 
It is against my constitution  for me to root for the Raiders, the other team with fans around here, being as how they are the Chiefs'
most hated rival.

The Packers/Vikings game was a GREAT GAME!!
Adrian Peterson had a great season he needed about another play to pick up the all time record for rushing.

Why can't I just praise RGIII as being a magnificent athlete and a wonderful young gentleman of truly admirable character without taking a cheap shot at Danny "the midget megalomaniac" Snyder?  Because it's just too much damn fun!

Danny's next project?  He's going to erect a replica of the Capitol Dome over Jack Kent Cooke Stadium FedEx Field and decorate its interior with a mural:  "The Apotheosis of RGIII".  Naturally, Danny will have his face painted on the Arch-Angel.

Well, the Fire/Hire Game of Musical Chairs has begun! I just don't understand the logic of some of these owners. They fire a guy for loosing games and then turn around and hire a guy who just got fired for loosing games!!!!!
Andy Reid gets fired for losing and now it's rumored that AZ wants to hire him!
Thank goodness AZ fired Ron Graves, the GM. Talk about a loser!!He couldn't draft anyone if the door was wide open and a 50MPH wind was blowing!

It was truly a Black Monday for quite a few coaches and GMs.  Sorry to see Lovie Smith go though he did well for being handcuffed all the time.
