Pearl Jam? PEARL JAM???? You have GOT to be kidding. Maybe, if the performance was held in the Pacific NW. CCR tunes would be way more popular; even to those youngsters in their 40's and 50's. Pearl Jam........really. Jmho, pb

I nominate John Fogerty for next years's half time entertainment...

I'll second that...Put'em in coach!

Perhaps for the elderly folks.  No one under 65 has heard of him.
I vote for Pearl Jam, they appeal to a broader crowd (wider age range)

I've lived all over the place, not may people my age know who John Fogerty is- they may have heard of him but are not familiar with his music.

Pearl Jam is still very popular all over the country, here in New England everyone knows who they are and they appeal to everyone from their 20's thru 50's.

OK...watching the Madonna half time show...

Did any of that make sense to anybody...???

The theme is "Madonna is great"...right...???

Busby Berkeley on mushrooms...???

Were portions lip-sync'ed...???

I think, IMHO, the only thing that could save this performance would be a "wardrobe malfunction"...

They could've saved the expense of hundreds of "extra's"  & singers by simply replaying Madonna's past interviews on Leno & Letterman...

My wife and I thought it was laughably stupid.

Who do you think should be the half time entertainment for NEXT year...somebody who has NOT performed there within the last 10 years...???

Don't know if he's played halftime or not, but Elton John

And didn't the "little town that could" do a great job with hosting the festivities?

I heard great praise for the fact that "everything was in walking distance".  That kind of "praise" is typically used by sportswriters when they describe jockies as "great athletes" and talk about flyweights (who couldn't take your mother-in-law) as "pound for pound ... ".

Evidently Indy has grown since the last time I flew over.  It now has two buildings with more than 30 floors!  The third tallest has 17 and the fourth tallest is the Scottish Rite Cathedral!

Every event was in a tent!  Rooms at the Day's Inn were going for $1,100/night!  I'll bet the Denny's ran out of "Grand Slams"!  Now that's a party city  town village!

I know Indiana considers itself to be a hotbed of basketball.  Is that why their stadium looks like a field house?

At least Indy smells better than Jacksonville.

Texas jealousy has no bounds.

I'd like to see Elton John play the halftime show.  Motley Crue or Def Leppard would also be interesting.  Madonna's show was.......interesting but what was all of this "L-U-V Madonna!"?

What about the commercials?  I liked Elton's the best.

We settled in front of the TV with an excellent Mexican soup made with homemade chicken stock and some spinach and artichoke dip and of course the mandatory brews.  It was a great game!

There are lots of people I would have personally enjoyed more than Madonna for the halftime show, but I am not sure the masses would have enjoyed, say Leonard Cohen.

As far as entertainment goes,it looked to me like Madonna gave everyone their moneys worth. I am not going to rush out and buy a DVD of it or anything, but I thought her show was entertaining. Hard to believe she is 53 years old.

It's funny everyone is always quick to point out that they know when someone has had plastic surgery , but only notice it when they've had BAD plastic surgery, fortunately (or unfortunately) they never realize the other 99.9 % that have undergone cosmetic surgery.

I would think that in cases where the surgery is of the minor restorative kind, changes that aren't overly obvious are a compliment to the surgeon.  It's one thing to turn back the clock a few years with some subtle changes but when someone who's 60ish tries to look 20 years younger again...well, those can be pretty extreme changes that're bound to be noticed, especially if the work hasn't had time to "settle".

I didn't watch the halftime show but apparently a British rapper known as "M.I.A." had a "finger malfunction", as one journalist put it.  Nice...

That certainly helps the body, unfortunately it doesn't do much for the face- that's what cosmetic surgeons are for.

Well she is in much better shape than me. I understand she does a lot of stretching and yoga. If I tried to do a cartwheel yesterday I would still be in intensive care today.

No jealousy here, just a sense of irony.

I try to call attention to the absurd whenever I see it.  Clearly, you haven't read the riffs I do on Texas, Texans, and our local NFL franchise, the Cowgirls.

Truth is, were it not for Mrs. Metro, I'd be back in Virginia in a heartbeat.

I would venture to guess she has had less cosmetic surgery than Roger Daltry, and she can actually still sing to boot.

I was rather down last week because I wasn't going to be able to see the "Big Game",  Madonna at Half Time or the Commercials  but low and behold I looked it up Saturday and they were going to have it online.  So I was able to stream it yesterday.  However, they did not stream the half time show (unless I had it on the wrong camera)  or the commercials (they came on after the game, however).  I was disappointed not to see Madonna, I am not a fan but   just wanted to see a glimpse of her performance.

However 2 out 3 is not bad and I really enjoyed the game.  I do love watching Tom Brady's passing game when he's not in the end zone!

I don't know how old you are, but I suspect you're too young to get a senior discount, huh...???

Look at all the YOUNG people dancing at a John Fogerty concert...you bet your sweet bippy folks of all ages know who JF is...

TRIVIA...John & (the late) Tom Fogerty are from El Cerrito, Ca (SF East Bay) and CCR was originally called "The Gollywogs"... they used to play at shows I produced at Provo Park...this was in the late 1960's...you know...BC  (Before Cellphones)  .....

Pearl Jam...???  Post San Francisco golden era weenie band...!!!

IF the late Bill Graham was still alive, and was booking a band for a "Day On The Green"...do you think he'd book Pearl Jam or CCR...???

You just hit on something...the new technology of being able to select different cameras while viewing online...I heard them mention this

Yesterdays scientific fantasy is todays technological reality... truely a breakthrough...

I dubbed the commercials onto dvd disk...I sometimes work in television, as does my neighbor, and another friend is a Director in Gollywood...so we'll make a batch of popcorn and watch the latest commercial techniques...

Apparently the Republicans have their panties in a knot over the Clint Eastwood halftime commercial...they say it's a thinly veiled endorsement of President Obama...Eastwood refutes this absurd contention...and the firefighters showed in a cameo are the Petaluma Fire  Dept (Sonoma County, CA)
