What the Cowboys need is an owner that doesn't think he knows more about football than every other GM in the NFL.

It's a shame that Jones hasn't paid attention to owners like the Rooneys or Robert Kraft to learn how an NFL owner should operate.

One of the greatest of the many pleasures in being part of SteelerNation is knowing that they are owned by the Rooney Family

No cheesy cheerleaders or arrogant B.S. about being "America's Team", just smash-mouth football.

I don't think the Redskins are going to the Super Bowl!

When is the Potomac, MD tree-killer going to stop playing fantasy football and musical chair coaching?

Every time we drive by the Deion Sanders Estate on our way up to Celina for breakfast at Lucy's Cafe I have to laugh at all the millions Deion took from that megalomanical midget!

Why when you base a team around a player like "BIG BEN" would you leave him in the whole game.  You need him later in the season and possibly post season.

He looked hurt and should have been pulled from playing.

Oh well guess that is why I am here and not getting paid to armchair coach.

Because his backup is Charlie Batch?

(Not that I should talk, as "my" team may possibly be turning to Josh McCown to save the season...)

Yeah, it was tough to see Ben left to limp around Candlestick.  Too bad Leftwich is injured, too.  They should have put Dixon in and let him run a "Tebow-type" offence.

Buffalo apparently figured him out today, that's for sure...he started 6 of 8 and then went 7 of 22 with 4 picks.  But apparently Denver's decided that they're going to stick with him.

I heard an interesting comment on the radio last week: if Denver's going to tailor the offense to match Tebow's skill set then the backup QB will need to cut from the same cloth.  For some QBs that might be an opportunity that they might not ordinarily get.

And as if things couldn't get any worse for the Vikings, apparently insiders fear that Adrian Peterson's knee "sprain" might be a torn ACL at best..." />

Well, the New York football Giants downed that other team from the New York area, and the Cowgirls lost. So next week the Giants get to clinch the division with their victory over that team from the Dallas area.

"Cowgirls" is right.  What a bunch of over-paid, over-pampered, under-coached examplars of female genatalia.  They are physically afraid of the crappy Giants!  Good thing they aren't playing the Steelers; they'd run out of underwear changes before the game!

One of these days Jerry Jones will wake up and hire a coach who won't be required to ki$$ his a$$ - someone like Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells.

The Cowboys stink out loud; like fish, the rot starts from the head.  Seven Million people in the Metroplex and an out-of-this-world stadium and you can walk up before any game and buy a ticket for face value or less.  Try that in "poor, little" Pittsburgh!

Torn ACL it is and he might not be ready by the beginning of next season. Players with torn ACLs rarely regain their old form, IMO. I thought the wear and tear before this last had already slowed him down.

They announced it today that the BUNGLES "sold" enough tickets to have the last game of the season broadcasted.  I say "sold" because they offered season tix holders a 2 for 1 deal.  Lot easier to "sell" out a stadium when you are giving half of the remaining seats away.

Congrats to Drew Brees - Dan Marino was my football idle growing up, we all wanted to be him or Montana.

I know the game is played differently today but still, it is a heck of a record.

Drew Brees is also closing in on Johnny U's record of 47 straight games with a TD pass, which was quite an accomplishment considering the state of the game when he played.

If I didn't already have plans to be elsewhere, I would have driven to Cincy to root on the Bengals!

Like Unitas, Brees throws a very, accurate "catchable" ball:  no wobble and no harder than he has to: great "touch".  On fly patterns when the receiver is wide open the ball even arrives a little "nose up" - hard not to catch!

Sonny Jurgensen was great at that as well.  Why George Allen benched him for Billy Kilmer is still beyond me.

My somewhat faded memories of Jurgensen and Kilmer (even though they both started elsewhere I remember them as Redskins) are of 2 paunchy old guys wobbling around the field, so maybe it was because Billy was just a little less out of shape?

I have a book about the 1962 NFL season and in it is a photo of a young, lean Bill (not Billy) Kilmer playing halfback for the 49ers!

Brees is pretty good (double digit INT's ), but after watching week after week of passing perfection, I've become jaundiced in my QB evaluations.

Pretty sneaky the way the NFL set up Sunday's schedule so that teams jockeying for home fields, seeding, etc are playing at the same time so they have to make real time decisions about what players to play and which ones to sit but will only have real time scores to work with.
I hope the Stillers score early and often and get Big Ben outta dare!

I hope he sits for the whole game.  If the Steelers can't beat the hapless and McCoy-less Brownies with Batch/Dixon then they don't deserve home field and the bye.

High ankle sprains are a bit*h.  One of those will sit our a Dallas Cowgirl for half a season!  As much as I enjoy seeing the Cowgirls win (it makes my neighbors and colleagues happy) I'm going to predict Giants 42, Dallas 17.

Tony " />"Oh, No!"" /> has a horrible penchant for coughing up the ball and throwing pick sixes in December.  Good thing the Cowgirls have another holder for field goals; maybe Garett won't freeze his own kicker this time!  Too bad Troy Aikman won't be the analyst for Sunday's coming debacle; nobody can "rub salt" like him!  (Yes, bitterness has been building for some time here in Big D).

For my fellow Metroplexians I hope I'm wrong, but I get the horrible feeling that the Cowgirls are physically afraid of the  8-7 "Giants".

Won't that only happen if the Ravens lose and the Steelers win?  IIRC if the Steelers and Ravens have identical records the Ravens win the tiebreaker, thus sending Pittsburgh on the road to face the AFC West winner in the first round wild card game (#5 vs. #4).

Not this year.  According to the stats I heard on ESPN this morning the TD/int ratios for this December are 6/6 for Manning and 8/0 for Romo, and Romo's completing about 15-16% more attempts than Manning.  But those are just numbers and the game still has to be played...

Yes, the game has to be played.  Tony always saves his "worst" for the last game -- most especially if it should mean anything.  And the one Sunday certainly does.

Besides, it will be played in the Meadowlands where the Cowgirls - little hothouse posies who practice and play in "climate-controlled" facilities - will get the shivers from the cold as well as fear.  And the little "boo-boo" on Tony's throwing hand will begin to throb.  (God, how I miss Jessica Simpson - 50#'s ago - in her little pink #9 jersey; that really took the cake!).

Don't misunderstand me:  I'd like the Cowgirls to win.  I'd also like Nancy Pelosi to do a Vulcan mind-meld with a reincarnated Milton Friedman.  I think the latter is more likely.  Take the Giants, give the points, and go to the bank.

Yes, indeed that is true.  The true Super Bowl once again will be the 3rd. meeting of the Ravens and the Steelers.  Whichever defense scores more will be the winner.

(BTW:  I wonder if it would be possible for Jerry Jones to let Tomlin and LeBeau have the Cowgirls for a few weeks.  They'd make the 'Boys work for the privilege of having toilet paper and pillows).
