Thought I'd post a few pictures from a local roadfood favorite, New Orleans to Go
. :) We didn't get to visit there more than a couple times before they closed, and this is our first visit since they reopened.
This was the special listed on the blackboard: half a glazed tilapia po' boy with coleslaw and a side order of red beans and rice. My husband reported that it was excellent. :)
The shrimp basket, which was my order. The coleslaw is a bit unusual. The dressing is quite thin and not as sweet as most places (I appreciate that, since I hate too-sweet 'slaw), and there's raisins in it, which is a new one on me. It does go well with all the fried food.
I keep meaning to try something else, but the fried shrimp lures me back. Light and crispy breading, lightly spiced, and the shrimp is cooked perfectly-- just until done, and not the least bit rubbery. In fact, I took a close-up shot of the shrimp just because it deserves to be fixed in one's memory. ;P
