Alex Barron, the lineman who committed the holding, has more holding penalties against him in the last 2 years than any other lineman.

I'm a Bears fan, but nothing could top that the call against Calvin Johnson.  That was awful.  I also have Johnson in my fantasy league, and I ended up losing my game by 1 point because of that call.

Based on what I saw on TV last night and read online this morning it seems a lot of people are calling for a review of the rule (the real culprit here, not the officials) as it's currently written, although the NFL so far is apparently not interested in doing so.

Had Johnson held onto the ball and then spiked it or handed it to an official the TD would've stood.

Even though his right hand actually touched out-of-bounds before the ball touched the ground, it's still not a touchdown.  He had two feet down, his butt, his hand touched out, just before the ball came down.  All of this when a ballcarrier just has to break the plane of the goal line and can then just fumble it away after that.  The rule was interpreted correctly, but it's a bad rule and not in the spirit of competition.
Unfortunately, the Bears are going to be crushed by the Cowboys next week, I think.

I turned the game off, but early on Cutler looked Jay Cutlerish which is to say 3rd string backuplike. How did he amass those fancy stats? Did he drink Red Bull at halftime?

It's the Martz Magic, of course.

Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre are the next invitees to the Julius Peppers Shoulderpalooza 2010 show.

Eagles get a big-big break
Vick will take them to the Super Bowl----
Vick is a great QB---he may be a jerk otherwise, but----

Oh by the way----I watched the games in a pub with about 200 TVs----
I thought Green Bay and Rodgers looked good, but Vick is a great football player---watch out or he will sic his dogs on ya..

Also---Seattle looked mighty good vs the 49rs-------
SanFran looks bad.

Dallas finds another way to shoot themselves in the foot...love it!
Who were those guys wearing Cutler's & Sanchez's numbers?
The Giants defense was offensive.

Cavandre, did you hear Michael Strahan call out Roy Williams during the Fox post-game show?  Basically he said that if a player's going to make a grandiose signal when he gets a first down he should do the same thing for the other team when he loses a fumble...couldn't agree more!

The Redskins game, God Almighty, they can find 10000 ways to lose, 17 point lead, AAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH!!
However I did have 6 ice cold beers, at home, and many nibbles during the entire frustration!

Did I really read that?  B_O talking trash to the rivals of Duh Bears?
I know it's a day late, but all I can says is:

As a Giant fan I have nothing to chatter about, as a matter of fact you may
not hear from me for the rest of the season.

The Giants get clobbered by the geographically-challenged Baltimore Colts and you expect me to chatter?

I never made it to the post game show...switched off the game somewhere in the 3rd Qtr as it was just too painful to watch. I'm still trying to figure out what the Giants hoped to do with their 1st half defense?

By the end of the season Tim Tebow will be saying that he hopes to someday be as good as Jay Cutler.

For a brief and shining moment it appeared that the Lions were actually going to play football, but alas, for it was not to be.  Although it was a much more respectable loss score-wise than I'm used to, that last bonehead play was par for the course.

By game four if Favre lasts that long everyone will be saying he should have finally retired after all.

Davy-----re:Farve--- they should put his Wranglers and his helmet in the back of his pick-up and aim him at Mississippi.

He was good while he lasted, but aren't we all.  Time to move on.

Farve has milked Milwaukee dry.

He can start making his own beer in Mississippi, no one will know the difference.  What ever happened to my favorite Pabst Blue Ribbon.  It
was my fathers brew and I got lots-a sips.

Here's looking at you Babe.

Oh yes back to football--------the Jets really made the Pats look bad and I hate the Jets----add their win to the Giant loss -- it was a bad Sunday

IMHO Brett can see the future, and will take his money this year and finally be out of the active game. I really don't see him doing the Lovey Smith, Mike Singletary role in Coaching down the road.
I guess I am a sucker for the Manning Dynasty. Archie has reason to be proud ! I would love to see the "behind the scenes" business structure of the family. Setting aside the hype (if that is possible), Peyton Played his game and put NY in the 'trailing role' from the first series.
I like both teams and enjoy following them thru the season. I'm glad the 'Bowl' is over for a few more years !
Anyone see the "helmet" on Ebay yet???

My two favorite teams, the Falcons and the Colts are both going to be in the Playoffs. The Colts, however are going back to the Superbowl to play the Packers this time.

Being a lousy coach runs in the the DNA of the Phillips family! Wade should have been fired after the 2008 season.

Favre's got a 25 year old mind but an almost 50 year old body(because of the beatings He's taken). BF should have retired for good after the 2007 season and went out a hero!

Reggie Bush having bad year---

Had to return the Heisman Trophy, was part of the reason USC is on probation and now he breaks a bone in his leg.  Maybe he should have skipped 2010.

Bum Phillips was a pretty good NFL coach.  He had an over .600 winning percentage as the Oilers coach with only one losing season in an era where the Steelers and Raiders dominated, and he coached the Saints with aging QB's Archie Manning and Ken Stabler.

I agree with saps about Bum Phillips.  He was a very good coach.  Even though the "Luv Ya Blue" Oilers of Dan Pastorini and Earl Campbell where the big division rival of my Steelers at the time, you couldn't help but genuinely like and respect Bum.
