Only Six? Hardly seems worth the trip there. I say start with 12 there and another 12 to go!

There was a time when I'd order 15 and eat them all. I've aged a bit since then.

When in Western Mass. the only place for burgers is the WHITE HUT. A local instiution for years that recently opened a new place in downtown Springfield, MA.

Had White Castles in NY (family is from there) but in the Washington DC area we had Little Green Tavern. Their sliders were so similar as to be almost indistinguishable (perhaps a little more onion). When I worked the night shift at a 24hr drug store the manager used to go out and get us a bag of them when the shift had been especially busy. A great manager! Alas they are now all gone...

Hey MoBob, Not sure where you live, but the best sliders in the NYC area are from the White Manna in Hackensack, NJ, and they are made with fresh meat, not frozen...

            Geo,
Whem I'm in states I divide my time between the mountains outside SLC, and southern Nevada. I'm currently in West Africa where I spend about six months of every year. Obviously Africa is out for Sliders and there is obsouluty nowhere in the western half of the US to enjoy them. I'm originally from the St. Louis area and so I savor the White Castle's as a treat when I get down there every few years.

Lets not also forget the legendary Cozy Inn of Salina KS. - spent several summers out there at Grandmas..still miss the little buggers! One of the CI legends is that he original owner had happened to stop into the first WC in Wichita, and figured he could make a better small burger...Salina was also I believe home of one of the first Pizza Hut restaurants [something like #3

Oh, heck. I eat 6 White Castles & I'm female. My Dad & I used to stop & get them for breakfast on the way to work at 7:00 AM & a night of drinking usually ended up at White Castle. Only the effete went to a pancake house after drinking the night away.

I think my record was 8. I'm no longer a girl but 6 still slide right down. They have holes in them so they can steam better. Once the place was busy & I got almost raw White Castles. Must admit that put me off them for about a year. I'm no longer in St. Louis but I still miss White Castles. The frozen ones help, but not quite the same atmosphere.

By the way, why are only States optional when you register?

White Castles are great, as are the very similar Krystal's. However, I mourn the loss of the Little Tavern burgers indigenous to the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area. Back in the 50's, they were no more than a dime or 15 cents each. I've heard them referred to as "death balls" and "rat burgers." To me, the biggest distinction between them and White Castle sliders was that Little Taverns started with fresh meat -- little balls slightly smaller than a golf ball, which were tossed on the grill along with some minced onions, smashed flat with some big, weighted thing that also helped to insure they were more steamed than fried. Most of the stores would have had difficult holding more than a dozen people at a time, and there was little, if anything, else on the menu. I remember eating 8-12 of them at 2 or 3 in the morning, going to bed for a couple of hours and going to work at 7 a.m. without any problems. 50 years later, my stomach gets upset even thinking about it.

White Castles and Krystals.. Fond memories, if fact, Ill take a sack of either. But my all time favorite was the Krystal Kitchen in London, KY. But its been gone 30 years.

Thanx UncleFudd-- I miss Little Green Burgers too-- Loved them. Worked all night in a drug store and they were our lunch! Alas the last one was in DC near H street in DC ( and it as far as I know is now gone). My local Little Green is now a one hour photo place -- and I wish the photos were as fun as the burgers

I live in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and I am definitely craving both Krystal and Whitecastle burgers here. My dad lives in Kansas City, Mo, and when I would visit him, we used to walk to the Whitecastle on Armour Rd. and buy big packs of the burgers. I absolutely loved the taste of them. Over this past Spring Break, I was hanging out in Memphis, and I spotted a Krystal a couple of blocks from Graceland. I tried some of those burgers for the first time and loved about as much as the Whitecastle. Moral of the story is, one of those companies needs to take advantage of the almost barren Arkansas market, and start expanding. I'm sure they'd make a giant profit in this state.

If you're ever in Dallas stop by Keller's drive-in on E. Northwest Hwy. They still have carhops and some great burgers. Also try Snuffer's on Lower Greenville Avenue. Too good.

In addition to the White Castle burgers, I enjoy their tiny fish sandwiches. Their tartar sauce is a little to tangy though.

We've had the Jalapeno Cheeseburgers in the Chicago area for a year now, they aren't bad. I was hoping they might be like a green chile cheeseburger like you can get in New Mexico but, hey we are talking White Castle here. A couple Jalapeno cheeseburgers and a side of jalapeno poppers gives me a good fix!

I had to weigh in on the white castle love fest. Since I am in NJ there is relatively easy access to these tasty burgers. Whenever I get the urge I'm good for a suitcase of thirty. I like them unadorned by ketchup and consider myself an orthodox white castle eater. I usually get 15 hamburgers, 15 cheeseburgers all with no ketchup. At times I will reheat with muenster or gruyere cheese, but thats as far as I go. I am totally against white castle changing the image with jalapeno cheese. You just should not mess with a winning formula. Some things need not change. Of course in my younger days I may have taken a date or two and splurged on surf and turf and yes sometimes surf and turf with cheese. What can I say, some women are worth stepping out of the box and up to the plate.

Are you saying that some are worth Surf & Turf, but none can share a suitcase of White Castles??? I like your Style, but wouldn't want to be your insurance agent.

Of course I share the burgers in the suitcase. Just think of the looks of admiration I get when I walk into my office with that cardboard suitcase instead of my black leather attache. The clerical staff jump up and surround me and speak of their praise for yours truly in expectation of what is to come.

Coney Island Lou has the info!! The Cozy Inn is several blocks from my sister's house in Salina, Kansas and is a necessary stop on my infrequent trips out West. White Castle could only aspire to be as good as Cozy's.I nearly missed my nephew's high school graduation because I had to make my third trip in a two day span to load up. I only wish that there was some way to get them airlifted here to NJ!!

Walmart did sell them in the frozen food section. They can't be as good as fresh made.

I bought their new jalapeno cheeseburger the other day. I could not detect the hot pepper until the second one and then it came on strong.

                                                        OK, now I am whining.

WHY don't we have a White Castle in Texas?

I have never, ever had one and I feel very deprived.

They brag on the ability of the new Pepper-cheese to add "Pep" to the already digestively-active sandwich. Anyone try one yet?? I had a couple by mistake a couple of months ago. I ordered some Castles (mustard, no pickles) and when I got home and opened the bag I found the jalapeno cheeseburgers. I think they managed to find the only jalapenos in the world more mild than bell peppers.

You mean you have to order them without ketchup or they automatically put it on? Here in the Columbus, Ohio area, the home of White Castle, they add nothing but pickles. If you want ketchup or mustard you have to ask for it. Boy, if White Castle headquarters ever found out that someone in New Jersey was putting a condiment on without being asked there'd be an uproar.
