We're getting a new Hardee's here in the area so I will swing by for a biscuit sandwich when they open. How good it will be depends a lot on the biscuit itself. In N.E. Tennessee Hardee's made their biscuits from scratch so they were very good. I had a biscuit at the Melbourne, Fl location that was not great and the closest it came to scratch was maybe the cook scratched himself while taking them out of the freezer :)

A tasty and simple biscuit recipe. I was very pleased that I could whip these up so quickly.

The best biscuits I've had are from gas stations/convenience stores that make their money off of their grills. They have no competition from the fast food restaurants because they have a steady clientele of working people. I haven't seen a photo on this thread with a biscuit even close in quality to the biscuits sold at a gas station and convenience store near me.  Of course, there isn't drive through and you will wait in line.

When I lived in Tennessee it seemed like every little market had it's own breakfast/lunch counter. Some were great, some were not but it was a nice variety.

I agree. There's a gas station/convenience store/bait shop/cafe' 12 miles from Charlotte ton a side road hat few people would ever stop at if they didn't know they also had the best meat market in the area.  The owner grinds the chuck and sirloin right there. Pick a tri tip in any size you want and the baby backs are like nothing available in grocery stores or restaurants. Of course, they also have country ham, sausage, bacon, Sahlen hotdogs, every cut of steak, pork chops, etc.

Pancho-had  awesome, homemade pimento cheese in the Carolinas-learned to make my own based on the taste...even brought back hoop cheese to make it with-however, here in Wisconsin it seems to be a good mild cheddar....

I can get that locally at Walmart.  Is really good.

Yay!  I hope so.  And yes--the steak ones are great.
I was going to save this for my 2013 pie trip report, but I'll go ahead and post it here now.  It's Hardee's pork chop and gravy biscuit.  Ridiculously good.

Also, the smoked sausage & egg biskit is pretty good also.

The pork chop n gravy biskit @ Hardee's is indeed mighty tasty.  I have had a hankerin' lately fer their smoked link sausage n egg biskit, though.

Same here with no smoked links.  For me just plain biscuits or sausage and biscuits with lotsa grape jelly.

Yes on the sausage biscuit with grape jelly! People who think it's strange just haven't had it yet!
Agreed! My favorite though is jalapeno jelly on a fresh country ham biscuit. Unbelievable. BTW, post #11 in this thread I mentioned Pine State in Portland for my favorite biscuits ANYWHERE. Good to see that others have noticed and have either gone or plan to at some point.
