Strong possibility! Just McBob's or shall we make a day of it?

I think one of Cudahy's two fine Serbian restaurants, Old Carriage Cafe or Ilija's Place would make great choices if you'd like to make a day of it. Bureks at either place must be ordered in advance.

Oh, now I remember. I read Buffetbuster's report.

Is this where we're going? What time?

Unless I have a funeral to attend, I would be available this weekend. What is the plan?

                Wow.

                My condolences.
That's always tough - I did that three times in the past year - just....waiting.

While I'd hoped to be riding in the caboose instead of being an engineer, what about lunch at McBob's, maybe a trip to Tenuta's (car pooling?), followed by dinner at Ilija's? Just my idea, I'm more than open to other suggestions.
                  McBob's-noon?
                  Ilija's-5:30?

Open to suggestions? Here's one from left field, figuratively and literally:

The Brewers have a Miller Park exhibition game against the Royals at 2pm this Saturday and all seats are $10. Have an early lunch, catch part or all of the game and some ballpark food (since all seats are priced the same it might be possible for everyone to visit the vendors on the Club level), and finish up with dinner somewhere. Now I don't know how many of you like baseball but it struck me as worth mentioning...

I'd be open to this if we push it all back 1/2 hour - McBob's Noon-thirty, and Ilija's at 6.
What are we going to do in between?
Sorry, Brad - the baseball does not "strike" me as something I'd like to do.

I'm in for McBob's at 12:30. Speaking only for myself, I'm not a baseball fan.

McBob's at 12:30 works for us. I can take or leave the baseball, although a trip to Miller Park could be kind of cool.

If not baseball, do we have any other ideas to make a day of it? Tenuta's and a kringle run could be fun. Ilija's in the evening would be okay, but after corned beef at McBob's that would be a whole lot of meat in one day.

Maybe Asian or Middle Eastern? If the group consensus is for Ilija's or any other Eastern European, I will not fight the pack. If it's all the same to you though, I think I'd rather go a bit lighter in the evening. Especially if a return trip to Kopp's is planned (Tiramisu and Butterfinger Candy Bar are the flavors of the day).

Certainly a spinach and cheese burek while rich would not be very heavy. Fortune and The Lotus are nice Asian choices. We really have some nice Indian places but nothing that compares to Chicago's Devon Street. I haven't been to any Middle Eastern since they moved from my side of town so maybe someone else can recommend one. We do have some excellent Vietnamese, Laotian and Thai choices including one, The Noodle House that serves all 3, and almost next door to it, a place called Thai BBQ that has exceptional food but no BBQ that I saw on the menu.

That last one sounds pretty good to me. Can we get some other opinions from the other folks who are going?

Well I've dined twice at Thai BBQ and I think it's a great place with the added bonus of being less than one block from Mekato Bakery which should be a must stop for any visitors. Just my 2¢
We could split up in the afternoon with some taking in a Brewer game (about one mile from Thai BBQ) and some car pooling for a Kenosha Italian deli tour of Tenuta's. CSD thinks Tenuta's is the best Midwestern Italian deli and while I couldn't say one way or the other, it is the size of a good sized supermarket and well worth the trip. We could meet back up for dinner.

Thank you!! I will be @ Froedtert from 7:30am until maybe 4. I will meet up with everyone @ Ilija's Place? It's in Cudahy? Is someone willing to pick me up a stuffed olive assortment (cheese, anchovy, etc, no more than $10)? To be paid back by me at the dinner? I grew up in Kenosha & love love love Tenuta's. If not it's fine, it will be treat enough to see everyone.

If plans change from Ilija's, MFL I will email you my cell#, I believe Buddy & CSD have it too.

Where is luvstoeat? tsores? guspas? This is going to be fun!

If we go, I'd be happy to get you an olive assortment to go along with my own! Do they call those buffalo mozzarella stuffed peppers cherry bombs? I love Tenuta's home made Tortellini too.

And DEFINITELY have to get the group to Mekato's (a Columbian Bakery) for tasty treats!

It's getting hard to follow who's going and who's not and I think we're missing ppl that should be responding, so MilwFoodlovers suggested I start a new thread.
Look for it in a minute - we'll discuss plans there.

Dinner plans are still being nailed down. But it will be in the evening when you become available so keep your eyesballs peeled for more info. If you have any input or ideas for where to go, feel free to chime in.

If we go, I'd be happy to get you an olive assortment to go along with my own! Do they call those buffalo mozzarella stuffed peppers cherry bombs? I love Tenuta's home made Tortellini too.
I love everything Tenuta's has to offer. I have been eating their food since I was quite small. Thanks, MFL, I will see you in the new thread.

I would like to report that the Brennans! grocery on Bluemound Road carries Landjaeger. It's actually in the meat case in the deli, rather than just hanging on a rack for you to grab. You have to actually ask the butcher for it.
The butcher was amused that I asked for 4 pair. I think I'm probably the only person that's asked for any in a long while. LOL

This does NOT, however, mean that trips up to New Glarus and Monroe this Summer will not be happening.
I'm ready and rarin' to go again!
