In my business I repeatedly hear these mispronounced words:

Chimney pronounced as chim-in-ney

Hearth pronounced as herth

rotisserie pronounced as ro-tiss- er-air-ee

Across as acrossed

height as hythe

masonry as masonary

Grill as barbeque

you?  (youse?)

Get lost quick going to Moonachie or Secaucus NJ.
or Cheesecake (really Cheesequake) State Park.
Mojo the sauce not the groove.

An animal doctor is NOT a vetinarian.
Some dictionaries are calling "nucular" a proper pronunciation of "nuclear".
And a LOT of people are calling soft-serve ice cream "frozen custard".

Does "podium" for "lectern" count? Makes me crazy.

Only here in the South - there are way too many to list but a few that make me cringe are:
                              Arthuritis - Arthritis
                              Alltimers - Alzheimer's
                              Eyetalian - Italian
                              Aspern - Aspirin
                              Excape - Escape
And I could go on and on.....

Many people put an "A" on the end.  It doesn't have one.
The "E" on the end is silent.

not always true my friend. In music, forte, is pronounced fohr-tay. and piano is probounced "pee-ahn-oh" as in strong(loud) and soft. A "pee-ann-oh" is the instrument that has keys that was originally called a piano-forte (pee-ahn-oh-fohr-tay"

In other languages, the "proper" pronounciation is "fohrt-uh" with the accent on Fohrt and the "uh" very quiet, like a rebound - almost inaudible - but still there.

                                            Some common architectural mispronounciations:
                                            Cornish for cornice
                                            Fakade for facade
                                            Joistesses for joists
