Ick

It's, er.......an acquired taste. And, you have to be from NY. I'll drink it with a good pastrami sandwich but, it's not my favorite.

I had a Squirt once when I was a kid and actually spit it out.  Canned rootbeer especially diet.
 
A friend of mine who tended bar at a place I worked forced a rusty nail on me.  I dislike the taste of scotch anyway and adding a scotch liquer to it was enough to make me gag.

Vernor's always seemed to be a pop that people either loved or hated.

Southern Comfort just tastes plain nasty to me.

Beer, in any way, shape or form....

I was just at a Vietnamese restaurant and at the table next to me they were enjoying  (???) an avocado shake.

Guess that's better than the Durian that was on the menu.

Mountain Dew!!!!...I guess I'm too old for it...my generation hated it when it made its first go round in the 60's!!!

I have a relative who drinks--sit down, please--Barq's Diet Root Beer with Captain Morgan rum.

He has other character flaws as well.

I never could tolerate Mountain Dew; just overbearingly sweet.
As for an alcoholic beverage, someone made me a grasshopper many moons ago...it felt like my teeth were going to rot out of my mouth from the sweetness.  It was nauseating..it tasted like I was drinking a dessert topping (with a little octane, of course!)

For a few years in the early 1970s there was a drive up eat in eatery in newport beach called The Jungle, all their menu items and employeers as well as the place itself was jungle themed. The serve a concotion called swamp water which was root beer mixed with grape and orange sodas, yukkkkkkkkkkkk
 
Everything else was pretty good including the roller skating servers in Jane type skimpy outfits coming up to your cars

Diet Dr. P is not bad with a slice of lime in it.

Never tried it but I see two things on the grocer shelves that make me wonder if/how anyone drinks them--  Clam Juice and Sauerkraut Juice.

Worst thing I've ever drunk on purpose? Jolt, heated to tea temperature.  I was on deadline for a book and bought my first (and last!) pack of Jolt.  Nothing could make the stuff palatable.  In a moment oif madness, I remembered an ad suggesting Dr Pepper warmed up as a winter driink.  Well, it may work for Dr P but for Jolt.....  oh my ghourd.......

Worst thing I've personally drunk accidentally?  Coffee.  Had to drink a half gallon of milk before the lead ball in my gut was neutralized.

Ok, there is something worse than Thunderbird, it was called Red Roster 21 ... a delightful wine with artificial colors and flavors added. I remember back in the late 80's going out with a friend and we had enough between us to get 2 bottles. I drank it down, almost puked, then later wished I had. One of the few times I have ever been hungover.

 Buckley's cough syrup truly is dog nasty.  I'd rather kick a cough with a tall tumbler of Night Train.  Check this site for some great reviews on these finer wines....

I have fond memories of my late grandfather and his ever-present bottle of Thunderbird in the fridge, late 70's-mid 80's. I remember smelling it in the glass and thinking it smelled great, couldn't wait until I was old enough to drink it. He at some point stopped drinking it, passed away in 95, and I forgot all about it. Then I found it in the grocery store in Richwood, OH, where I was living at the time, and thought it would make a nice trip down memory lane to have some. Holy Mary, Mother of God, I tried to force a small glass down, said "sorry Pop, can't do it" out loud, and dumped the whole bottle down the drain. Horrible, just horrible.

Hate Big Red or any other strawberry flavored pop.

I second the Big Red hate, topferment, though it's never tasted like strawberries to me. I think it tastes like bubble gum, a flavor I loathe.

I worked in a liquor store once.  The #1 seller in the store by a factor of 5 was "Wild Irish Rose", which claimed to be wine.  It sold for $1.65 per quart.  My friends and I tried it one night and every single one of us vomited. 

The single worst tasting beverage I have ever had would have to be the A&W Floats.  Read a great review of them somewhere.  They have a Sunkist one too.

It tastes like someone took root beer and mixed it with some sort of space-age polymer that looks a little bit like melted ice cream, but tastes like something the Devil himself concocted.

If you see one, try it, just so you know.

I've been drinking diet pop for at least the last 20 years since my metabolisim dropped, helps keep the weight off without all those empty caloroies.

Now whenever I taste a full calorie pop it makes me gag.  Sickly sweet, thick, syrupy.  The texture alone lets you know you're heading to a sugar OD.

I have had a number of vile drinks in my time, ones which, after one sip, I knew there would never be a second.

However, a special place has to go to Nehi Blue Cream Soda. At the time I tried it, I LIKED cream soda; it was a frequent choice of mine. When I was 19 or so, I bought a bottle, and gave it a try. It had a bottom note that was reminiscent a lemon that had been in the back of the refrigerator for a couple of months (if you have never smelled one, I strongly recommend that you do NOT try it out and check it out for yourself). It was so vile that it was literally decades before I could even try cream soda again, and even now, cream soda is something that I can only drink if there is nothing else I like available.

(BTW, it wasn't the color; I've since had Tropical Fantasy Blue Cherry Soda, which is mediocre, but not bad. I don't know if they still make it, but it was a great practical joke to put it into a spray bottle, and drink it in front of people; it looks exactly like Windex.)
