I created my first original recipe at about age 5, after my older sister had baked pie dough leftovers with sugar and cinnamon. OH NO, IT'S... DESSERT DELIGHT Mix flour, sugar and water into a [library] paste, then spread on ungreased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at whatever temperature Penny set the oven for, as this is so long ago we had to light that one with a match. Result: hot glue! At least it was easy to clean up. Then, when I was 19: EGGS ARNOLD Same as Eggs benedict, only substitute moldy bread, raw egg shelled, then frozen in container of appropriate dimensions, very, very old, rainbowwy ham, and hot Alpo all over. Serve to worst enemy. Hey, it was the 70s, get it? and it was a laff riot at the party. The description, not the actual dish, fortunately, although someone later that evening ate a peanut butter and sardine sandwich. I'm not making this up, you know!

Once when I was a teenager, my slightly domestically challenged nana came over for Easter with a recipe she got off the radio, for a Jelly Bean Omelette. Well, you-know-who (me) decided to see what it tasted like... yuck! We figured it must have been a radio gag! Tom

I heard an author on the radio respond to a question by the interviewer as to some things that shaped his childhood. He said that one thing he couldn't forget was his mother making 'tuna fish and jelly' sandwiches for his lunch. Dino
