A great homemade cream of tomato soup with sliced up grilled Hebrew National's in it?

    My mom,back in the 50's made tomato soup with hot dog "coins" for us kids. Thanks for reminding me!

    I guess that I would prefer my hot dog on the side.............but certainly would try it.

    Grill those franks whole first to give them color and a little crustiness before slicing and adding them to the soup and I'll have a bowl. And a big glass of milk. please.
     
    EDIT: Oh, and some Saltines that I can crumble.

    I've made that at home numerous times.
    Another Comfort Food Treat:
    Tomato Soup with a grilled cheese that has 2 grilled hot dogs sliced length-wise inside the grilled cheese

    Yes, I would! I also like hot dog coins in bean soup!And absolutely, gotta be Hebrew National.

    I'd do it.  When I was a kid, my favorite was creamy tomato soup eaten with a rolled up piece of Oscar Meyer bologna and that combination rocked, so I say go for it.
