Yankees...moving closer...???

At the risk of bringing out the Yankee haters and the"they buy their wins" people,last night's game was exciting baseball...to be down 5-1 in the 8th and to rally using all the tools you have, it was crafty baseball from a team with heart and teamwork at it's best...it should be a great series...I hope we get a rematch with Philly!!!!!!

I'm still taking Texas, a World series caliber team has to be able to bounce back from a tough loss. A real pro knows how to keep their chin up and not hang their head in despair. Very enjoyable game today. I was at work last night and could not curse or kick over furniture as i might have done at home. The Yankees showed their professionalism and the Rangers  bullpen showed its problems yesterday. Today was much more enjoyable for me.

Well, the Yankee Universe took a little step backwards today....here we come Bronx!!!

Moving closer------to emptying out the locker and getting out the golf clubs--------but as an old Irishman once said "It ain't over til it's over".

The Rangers and Giants can work on creating the first hour of a boxed set of their video history highlites!!! "Wait 'til next year" is always a viable alternative when you're a Yankee fan!!!

Yes Virginia there is a Santa Claus-----you too Billy Boy---as long as there are people with smiles on their faces there will always be a Christmas.  And, if there is a Christmas there will be a Santa---he is not irrelevant.

Fear not, Yankee fans.  Although the Yankees lost to a team with a third of their payroll, they will buy their way back into the playoffs again in 2011.  Heck, the Yankees Game 1 Starting Infield alone had a higher payroll than every team in the league except one. 
 
The Yanks have made the playoffs 15 out of the last 16 years.  By total coincidence,  they've led the league in payroll 15 out of the last 16 years.  You can count on them to once again spend around 50,000,0000 more than the next closest team in order in an attempt to purchase more World Series hardware.  The Yankee way of winning is not to maximize their competitiveness, but to attempt to purchase their way beyond comptetitiveness so they can just waltz in and pick up their trophy.  Didn't happen this year, and it was really nice to see.  But it's not something to get used to. 
 
You'll hear the Yankee fans try to talk about "Yankee Mystique" and other such nonsense.  Yankee mystique was gone a long, long time ago. Just follow the money trail.   
 
Remember when Yankee fans would talk about what a great manager Torre was?  How many championships has he won away from that juicy Yankee money?  In 18 years of non-Yankee managerial jobs, that number would be zero.
 
So enjoy the brief respite from the Yankees this year,  baseball fans.  And Cliff Lee, prepare to get your money.

And with team sharing, the Yankees payroll helps finance poor and/or cheap owners/teams like those nearly bankrupt Rangers!!!! Sorry Yankee fans love to fill up ballparks(not just Yankee stadium)...yes Yankees are good for baseball...hate us or love us...and take our generated revenue!!!!

oh and yes, I bet Lee would love to be a Yankee and in the New York market!!!

Why? It would cost him about $14 million in state and local taxes to play for the yankees, not to mention the cost of living. In the Dallas area no state or local income taxes, a cost of living about half of what it would be around New York. Good schools where he is, and certainly a more pleasant clcimate. Plus, he's from Arkansas, which means home is a lot closer.

We'll see,Michael,,,but so many guys like the limelight and the endorsements that come with New York !

Oh, I know. Then again, New York would have cost LeBron James about $25 million, so the Knicks never had a chance.
