Hi M. Hoffman, I see you are in the columbus area as well, just wanted to let you know that a Culvers has opened up in the Powell area near the Zoo and i their burgers are devine They have a few kinks to work out , but the service and staff are very friendly. What are you favorite restaurants in the area??

Actually, the word is correct -- in Polish, whence it comes. It was "Frenchified" -- no, not frenchifried -- to polonais or polonaise (meaning in the Polish style) outside Poland. Many restaurants, bars, hotels, and even a car are so-named in Poland. It is no less correct than Italia for Italy.

Mayor: I'll bet we could start a thread of incorrect translations for food haunts, but the real names are even funnier:

What are you favorite restaurants in the area?? Thanks for the information about Culvers. I don't get to the Powell area very often, but the next time I do I'll check it out. My favorites? Well, there's Scali's on the far east side in Reynoldsburg, Mitchell's Steak House, The Top, Cameron's, the Grill & Skillet, the Waffle House on Westerville Road, any White Castle, City Barbeque, Cap City Diner.
