Your Favorite Round of Store-Bought Sin?

What's your poison in the world of grocery store cookies? I admit to being a snob for most part and preferring home baked goodness, but there are a few that I can't pass by. 1. Pepperidge Farm Brussels Cookies-Delicate buttery oatmeal influenced with that ribbon of chocolate. 2. Grasshoppers-next best thing to Girl Scouts Thin Mints 3. Nutter Butters 4. Crisp, hard Gingersnaps-preferably Nabisco, but some off brands are pretty fulfilling too and great for mock Sauerbraten meatballs 5. Keeblers Caramel Toffee Pecan Shortbread

Any variation of Keebler Sandies works for me (though I far prefer the Scottish shortbread whose name eludes me) Nutter Butters are great, but as a regular blood donor I get them free (or the cost of a pint) As it's that time of year I do have to mention Samoas although technically they're not a store-bought cookie.

A lot of packaged cookies don't taste good to me. I like almond and pecan cookies, but the ones I buy don't seem sufficiently baked. They have a raw flour flavor. These dags I pretty much stick to Fig Newtons, good ginger snaps, and butter cookies. I love some of the Pepperidge Farm cookies.

Man, OCDreamer, you just gave me my first positive memory of my dad in about 15 years! I remember that man putting away a box of mallomars in no time. Couldn't even get close enough to taste one. Me -- my cookies of choice have already been mentioned. I loves me some Vienna Fingers and ginger snaps, too. I like the ones that come in the brown bag. I am not sure of the name, but now I will have to check the next time I go to Publix. I have also been known to put away some double stuff Oreos on occasion, and those lovely Famous Amos chocolate chip jobbers. Steve

Oreo cookies and Tostito tortilla chips--I could NEVER resist them... especially Oreos... Now that I am not in the States anymore, I keep craving them and my friends who regular do transatlantic travel have been carrying them back for me to the extent of hugging the big bag of Tostitos in their lap so that it doesn't get smashed

Pecan sandies and most embarassingly, the little pink and white animal circus cookies. I love the crunchy sprinkles and the weird greasy coating they leave in your mouth.

Elise, there was a show on TV about 2 weeks ago (don't remember the name of it or the channel - spouse found it on one of his channel flipping exercises) that showed a tour of the animal cracker plant. They make more than a million of them a day. I liked the part where they went through the sprinkle machine.

God, I adore Double Stuf Oreos most of all. After that, I'd say gingersnaps and a tall cold glass of milk for the dunking!

Since I'm diabetic, I don't eat cookies often, but hubby has a thing about Keebler Chips Deluxe. He eats these for breakfast every morning. He dumps most of the cookie in his coffee, eats the part he dunked, and the dog gets the other bite. They eat about 4 every morning. These are the only kind of chocolate chip cookies he likes, he even prefers them over homemade. He's been eating these for years, and strangely enough they haven't made him fat. He's 6'1, and only weighs 175 lbs.

The Keebler brand doesn't leave the greasy coating, just a yummy taste!

I love some of the Pepperidge Farm cookies. Jim, did you eat packaged cookies when you were growing up? If so, what kind did you eat? My mom (you remember here, don't you? a card carrying member of the Food Police) rarely bought cookies, and I think it became sort of a forbidden fruit thing with me. Clothier, you may recall that I literally grew up in a restaurant business. I have to say my mom placed no limits on the junk food I consumed. Packaged cookies, ice cream, candy bars, and chewing gum were for sale, and I ate too much of all that stuff. As a result, there were far too many visits to the dentist. I think the deal was this: I had to work many hours in the business from the time I was young until I was 18 and the folks retired. The freedom to eat anything and as much as I wanted was a kind of exchange for my labor. Thankfully, carte blanche on junk food was the one and only area where Mom indulged me. The restaurant cookies I most enjoyed were Oreos. Mom didn't bake homemade cookies, but would sometimes buy me Lorna Doone butter cookies at the A & P.

Nah--I sometimes dunk my oreos in milk but usually, I sit with a packet open next to me while I write an article or do homework => typical college students. Tostitos I can eat about a handful at a time and that's it--but I do crave it because England has NO good tortilla chips that are bland enough to be suited to dipping. Okay, they have Doritos Dippas but for my money, Tostitos are better.

I can eat a whole bag of those Milano cookies, and I don't really care for sweets! Thin mints (frozen) are especially dangerous.
