I love the frozen lemonade served at many places I'm sure, but only if it is hand scooped and fresh with bits of lemon peel and served with a straw. Not frozen like a rock and served with a spoon. In Pawtucket I'm sure it's Dels that they're serving.

quote:Originally posted by wanderingjew I had the toasted ravioli at Busch Stadium and did not think they were very good, however I did have a good chicken spiedie sandwich where the Binghamtom Mets play. The park in Binghamton also sells coil sausages, which are sausages shaped like a Slinky. Along the regional beverage front, San Francisco's Pac Bell, or whatever it is called now, sells California wines by the glass; Seattle's Safeco has espresso carts; and Denver's Coors Field has a fully functional microbrewery/brewpub, which sells a nice selection of brews that have nothing to do with Coors' namesake product.

At Fenway, I skip the chowder and head straight for Italian Sausage w/peppers and onions. That and a Sam Adams (you have to hunt for the vendors, but they are there) and my Red Sox experience is complete. Also, I'm partial to the Cracker Jack. Sadly though, you can only get it in those industrial size bags, so you have to share with your friends. You do get a prize, though. I love the fried dough in Pawtucket. And they get extra points too, for having that great lawn in the outfield where you can stretch out on the grass with your beer and try to snag a homerun.

Detroit has a coney vendor....I didn't try it because I was too full from Greektown Leo’s Coney Island Comerica Park and various locations You’ll find the best ballpark frank at Leo’s Coney Island at Comerica Park. Some might say a Coney is a Coney, but fans of Leo’s beg to differ. With 17 locations (and seemingly ever expanding), Leo’s might be the biggest Coney chain in the area—certainly on the west side of town. The reason is simple, the beyond bun length hot dog has a little snap and a lot of flavor, and the chili is right on. Leo’s multi-page menu surpasses expectations with sandwiches, salads, desserts, Greek and an entire page devoted to “breakfast anytime.” But do yourself a favor, even if you’re getting an omelet; get a Coney on the side.

As far as the fried dough, they're "doughboys" to you non Rhode Island natives out there! I particularly like the fried pollock sandwich at Hadlock field in Portland Maine. They're small but very addicting!

Kristi, The malt cups that I've had are like a frozen malted chocolate milk shake, heavy on the infused air and probably no real milk. Stick with the frozen lemonade. I hope you'll offer a review of the new Philles stadium in a few weeks.

quote:Originally posted by redtressed I grew up going to the old, dirt- based, Forbes Field in Pittsburgh with my dad. Nothing will ever taste as good to me in a baseball park as Oscar Meyer hot dogs, Isaly's chipped ham sammiches and Orange Crush. The Boys of Summer just aren't the same without sitting up close, watching Roberto Clemente, Manny SanGuillen(sp), Pop Stargell, Kent Tekulve et al, and listening to gravelly Bob Prince. Those were truly the glory days. red, I too grew up in the same old Forbes Field! One hot Sunday afternoon the Pirates were losing (what else was new?) and Clemente got up to bat and my mother said, "think homerun, think homerun" so I crossed my fingers and toes and "thought homerun" to which he cracked the bat against that ball.......over the wall! The weatherman from KDKA was sitting in front of us......cannot remember his name for the life of me. Isaly's chipped ham....wow. Haven't had that in years. As far as the Red Sox/Yankee thing goes, I give up. Lived in Boston 15 years....."the Sox are gonna do it THIS year!!" Right. Curse of the Bambino.

quote:Originally posted by signman Ribdog. LaSpada is the real McCoy. I believe they are originally from Camden, NJ. I've had their italian cold cut sub (hoagie) from the location in Dunedin. I've also had one from another location in Fort Lauderdale just off A1A and Commercial Blvd. My understanding is that LaSpada's is from Delaware County, Penna. My ex, who grew up in Swarthmore, and her family used to take LaSpada's hoagies to Phillies games. We went to Jack Russell a few years ago, and were overjoyed to see LaSpada's selling steaks. Good stuff. Ribdog: When you toured the new place, did they (please, please) point out where the new LaSpada's would be?
