I live in California. There used to be a steak house called Mr. Steak. They served the most delicious mushroom appetizers. They were in a batter served with a cheese sauce and topped with chives. I have wanted to find the recipe for this dish as there are no more Mr. Steaks in our area and I STILL crave that wonderful dish from time to time! Would anyone happen to have the recipe or know where I could find it?

Where was Mr. Steak? That appetizer sounds like it would be fairly easy to duplicate at home, calijo.

There was a Mr. Steak in Roseville, CA. I have tried to duplicate the recipe on my own, but there is just SOMETHING missing! They were made in a light batter (I believe beer batter). I have not been able to get the batter as light a coating and of course the taste is definitely not the same!
