Any suggestions on where to purchase small bags of chips by the bulk? I found them in the Foodmax store but they include Cheetos and other items I am not selling. I am trying to find the basics like Potato,BBQ, Onion and maybe Doritos. Any info would be great. Thanks

Chicago hot dog stands don't sell chips. They sell fries. Chicagoans eat chips with hot dogs at picnics. I don't sell chips for two reasons: 1. The profit margin is too small on a 1oz bag 2. People need their hands for the dog and a can of pop. With chips, it's a juggling act Only 1 out of a 1,000 of our customers request chips. My view is strictly regional. Chips may be the hot ticket for you. I'm sure that other vendors will disagree with me and my post should not deter you from selling them. If I were to sell chips, they'd be Jay's. Jay's is an old established Chicago company. They only use two ingredients in their chips: potatoes and salt. No chemicals or preservatives. A case consists of 44 1oz bags. They can be purchased at Sam's Clubs and Restaurant Depots. Whatever you purchase, check the expiration date on the case. You'll may want to display them on a chip rack that can be suspened from the umbrella on your cart. If so, don't let the customers serve themselves or they'll pull the entire rack off the umbrella. I buy the bulk lays at Costco, but CSD is right, a lot of people don't want them, but I offer the special with 2 dogs, chips, and drink for 5.00, Just regular potato chips, and a decent size bag, kids like chips though..

Thanks for the info. I will stop by costco tomorrow. Thank you all for the good input. I'm just starting out so I might have to try the fries later.

I recently hook up with the restaurant distributor here and am now buying my chips through them rather than Sams Club. The reason is freshness. The chips I get from the distributor are usually 70-80 days away from expiration and the chips from Sams are more like 10-20 days away from expiration. I pay 26.05 for a box of 60.
