concession hood fan watts?

Hey all,

Trying to determine what generator size i need for my food truck. I have a calculated 2700 watts so far from my fridge, sandwich prep, water heater, and 3 lights. I'm trying to figure out the amount of power my concession hood fan uses. I believe the fan is 1000 cfm but not entirely sure. The concession hood is about 4ft. long. I tried looking for a tag on it but could not find one. I bought the truck used.

You haven't given us enough information to help you. Regardless, if you want to know for sure, just get an electrical probe meter and check it out yourself. They are cheap, and easy to use.

Figure about the same as your prep table,it would also have a surge on start up like your refrigeration,if it is belt driven even more,so you really need to take the surge ratings into thought in sizing the generator,or start one cooler let it get to temp then start the next one, otherwise you will be eating alot of generators and compressors.

But like it was posted ,without more info it is rough. 1/10 up to 1/2 is roughly 500 watts with up to 800 surge,1/2 is rare for 1000 cfm but no with no tag it is a guess to what the cfm is.

I have seen 800 cfm placed on 8 ft hoods before, not recommended though.
