A plug? An electrician should be able to wire up a dryer/stove type plug on the end of a heavy duty power cord (hard wired to the panel in your trailer) and install a receptacle for it to the power pole that the city requires you to use. I would suggest getting a lockable box on the power pole, otherwise you will find some idiot trying to hook-up to the "free" power. Think RV hookup.

ciconepizza.....what are you running that requires 100 amps?
Waterproof 100a ends are a few hundred bucks each....
Sure you can't get by with 50a?

        water tight plugs
        100' cable

.....i dont mind spending the money for the ends but need to make sure i have something safe and will pass inspections

The cable above is $19 a foot.... you can do a little better at an electrical supply house... but still spendy.   Why not have the gas installed and forgo the 100 a panel ?.....it's just lots of wasted $$ for a temporary setup.

either way i would still need more then 50 amps since the soft serve machine is that alone

Just go talk to an electrician. They can put together a cable and 100amp 125/250V cord/plug and receptacle. Just explain that you are a mobile unit and need to be able to unplug from the power pole, without having to call an electrician every time you need to do so.

The city will terminate at a meter. From the meter wire to a 100 amp box & breaker or a knife switch.  These are less expensive than Main Breakers and will do the job. You have a Main in the trailer.   ... From there wire to  this load center. ($25)
.... install matching plug ($20) on the end of your elect. line. ...   I think a box & plug call P54 (???) for a mobile home is the same.    This is a 50amp rated box, just use larger wire for 100 amp.   It has worked well for me for more than 30 years.     ...  I do not know of any 100 amp receptacles & plug boxes.
available from Lowes    ... ref: http://www.lowes.com/pd_242308-82364-CHU1S_4294821820__?productId=3027570&Ntt=electrical+panel&pl=1&currentURL=%2Fpl_Electrical%2BBoxes%2BConduit%2BFittings_4294821820__s%3FNtt%3Delectrical%2Bpanel

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO PULL THE PLUG WITHOUT FLIPPING THE BREAKER OFF.

If that electrician can't figure out something as simple as how to supply you with 100a power to your trailer, I would say that you need to find a different electrician.

I've never found a 100 amp plug & receptacle and don't believe these are available.    It's too easy to straight wire to the breaker.    But, I know the box and plug shown above will work just fine.

arthur  ....  amp your service lines and check your actual loading.   I think you see the actual current draw is less than 50 amps.

What I had  done was have my own meter installed, on a seperate drop from the building I am at because the wiring in that place was a nightmare according to my electrician.

He just put up a meter base and wired a receptical in it. City power feeds straight from their arial feed to the meter.
He is a buddy of mine, didn't charge me, but said it would run about $400.

Only way to do it is cable, plugs and recepticals....
Go to an electrical supply house, ask them what type of waterproof plugs and recepticals thaty have.... and they might carry the cable too....or be able to order it for you.
50A cable requires a 6ga wire.... 100A needs a 2ga....they might not have a big calling to stock something like that.......and it's going to be HEAVY.... how far will you have to run it?

A dryer or range plug & matching receptacle will handle the power with no problem. If the electrician doesn't know that, then you had better get another electrician. We have worked on houses (professional remodelers) for decades and have run into lots of electricains that don't know their head from a hole in the ground.

Go to a place that sells mobile homes (not RVs... single wide mobile homes). They plug into 100 to 150 amp poles all the time WITH PLUGS. In a park where the site is rented, they do not hard wire to the power pole.

Since the largest amp rated receptacle & plug I know of is 50 amp, a licensed electrician may object to installing these on a 100 amp service.   It doesn't mean, they don't know what they are doing.       But once you realize the plug blades are more than thick enough to service 100 amps, then the problem must be size of wire and the danger that exist if the plug is pulled under load.    ... Install a breaker/disconnect before the receptacle. .... Do it yourself, as you need to know how to make up different pig tails for other locations or tell the electrician "it's a 50 amp"  plug & service.

I have seen this before. Cost effective alternative to the VERY expensive 100a flex cable and plug/recept could be.... Meter and fused safety switch as the means of disconnect left at the pole. Come out of the 50a FSS with a standard 50a 4 wire recept on fed from each 50a leg out of the FSS (mounted on the pole). Run 2 50a 4wire feeds to the unit. Inside the trailer you can have 50a sub panels or whatever you need. Ultimately, overcurrent protection is provided by the individual 50a fuses in the FSS on the pole. And you can padlock the switch to keep the Honest Criminals from robbing your juice.

Do some research, the only 100 amp receptacles I find are for Marin use.  You can use it, if you are willing to pay the price.   $375  ... and the plug would be about the same price.

In a park where the site is rented, they do not hard wire to the power pole.

my electrician also came to the same conclusion......hope he is right...it doesnt seem like anyone else personally has come across this for thier trailer.....do any of you have soft serve machines?   if they draw 50 60 amps alone wouldnt you have to have 100a also?
