I am waiting right now on a return call from a "big employer" in Oak Ridge. If I get it, I will be sitting on my second floor porch throwing rocks in the Mighty Tennessee within a month. We plan on joining the "Volunteer Navy" as soon as we get moved, so we will wave at you as we pass.

Pogo: I am certain it will be a relief to move back to Tennessee from East Podunk, GA to the banks of the Tennessee River. As you are a part of the Volunteer Navy, please wave as you pass my dock. You will recoginize me as I will be the one with the Tennessee orange shirt on

Well I may be late to this thread but I'll still put in my 3 cents...

Fresno, Calif. for 41 years until moving to FarEastern West Virginia 6 years ago. The boss made me an offer I couldn't refuse...

I lived in my parents house from birth to marriage, 21 years, then in an apt for 13 months. Then bought and moved me, PP and kid into my maternal G'mothers place for 13 years. When dad died we moved back into my original home for 6 years. I still own that house and my G'mothers old place. My parents house had the same phone number from 1950 until we moved out in '98. When we moved to WVa we were able to get that same number again with only the area code changing. I've had the same number, basically, for 47 years.

Born in Galesburg, Illinois

College years in Edwardsville, Glen Carbon, Alton and Wood River IL across the Mississippi from St. Louis, where I learned to say "soda" instead of "pop"

17 years in Chicago, 5 of which in Evanston

11 years in San Francisco

Next stop--Encino, Sherman Oaks, etc., for a house with a pool and weather that will allow its use much of the year. It has to be in Californina, now that so many states are taking away my civil rights.
